Ok, so I am not sure exactly how this happened, or if it is a glitch or intentional, but...

I had maxxed my rank. I received a total of 480 skill points to spend and had distributed all of them. After I maxxed I only received redistribution points. I had about 280 redistribution points and was playing around with my skills. I was on my main profile page and had changed my character class from nothing to close quarters combat specialist. I went back to my skill page, edited my skills and pressed X to distribute my skills as that class. I made a mistake and accidentally accepted the change (oh **** my marksmenship went from 10 to about 3, but my honor went through the roof).

Anyway I am figuring that I am screwed now for a few days until I can earn enough redistribution points to fix my skills. I played for a few hours last night, then go to check how many redistribution points I earned. The thing is I earned skill points, not redistribution points. So now I am able to start adding more than 480 skill points.

I think I'll keep my honor where it is and build my marksmanship back up.

Could it be that chosing a class allows you to gain more points? I didn't chose a class either. Would be nice to hear from a developer on something like this, what's the official max you are supposed to be able to get?

It would seem that way. But I don't recall any mention of this in the manual. I am just going to continue adding more skill points.

It would be nice to hear from a developer, but even now after a bit more than a week we haven't received any official acknowledgement of the serious server crash problem on XBox live games, so don't hold your breath.

McGrude, the exact same thing happened to me. I maxed my rank, pressed X when changing my skill points, accepted, and bam, no more distribution points and now when I add skill points it doesn't like actually change it in the game. Since it happened to me I have changed my medic skill from a 1 to a 9 and it hasn't gone a split second faster at healing. Tell me if it doesn't affect your actually skill in the game McGrude.

****! Does that mean I am stuck with crappy marksmenship? **** there's no way to fix this since my stats are loaded over the network.

So I'll never gain redistribution points again so I'll never be able to fix my marksmenship.

This sucks.

Hhhmmm. That's kind of weird. If it does effect gameplay, I'm not sure whether to think of that whole possible glitch being a good thing or not. That didn't happen to me but there was one thing that happened to me that kind of has to do with that. I maxed out my rank online, once it said I achieved maximum rank during a game it said I recieved a lot skill points to spend, but I continued to play after it said that. When I went back to the SP menu it said I had 6 skill points. Then when I maxed my rank on career mode, it said the same thing, a lot of SP to spend and a lot of redistribution points. When I got back to the SP menu it said I could only spend 9 skill points. And I know that it said when I got to the final rank, I got A LOT of skill points, I don't remember exactly how much but I remember it was a lot because I double read it. Does this have anything to do with your problem that you had? And, is there any explanation to this problem?

Yes. It tells you you got N SP, when in reality you got M SP (M >= 0) and K redistribution points. This is also a bug. I think that (without the glitch I described above) regardless of how many skill points it claims you get everything over 480 skill points become redistribution points (unless you've triggered the glitch).

Another odd behaviour we have observed is that if you do change your arch type, you end up receiving what I would call 'bonus' skill points. For example if my friend were to change his arch type to Medic and redistributes his skills for that arch type, then he'll end up with 123 more skill points than he had before he converted. Additionally the game locks up if he attempts to set his arch type to sharpshooter.

I have tried this "glitch" and I can not get any additional SP. I am running the standard Xbox (not 360). I played live without an archtype. I maxed out my SP and began getting redistribution points. I was told of the glitch online, so I changed my archtype to Marksman and used the x button to distribute my SP. Then I saved and contiuned to play. I still only get Redistribution points rather than new SP. Am I missing a step?

a) quit tryin to cheat

b) Do some reading! The people affected by that glitch are presently *screwed* because those points you're trying to cheat and get *do not* have any effect on your characters performance. All it does is keep you from getting the redsitribution points to customize your skills later. There is no way to get back to normal, which is what's frustrating the people who stumbled on this glitch. Consider yourself lucky it didn't work.

I have not played this game for a month because of this glitch. My profile is fried and I am mad about it, and to top it off I've essentially receieved a 'your f*cked, sorry' response from Ubi's support.

So, yes, RawK is right. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO ACTIVATE THIS GLITCH - YOU WILL REGRET IT.

ok here are some of the answers everyone is looking for about the skill point glitch. once you have reached your max amount of skill points, that is all that is applied. every skill point you get after that shows on the personal jacket but really has no effect. once you have reached a 10 on everything you will start to earn redistributions points, that is after you reach 480 skill points again. myself and a couple friends are trying something. we each have over 2 million experience points. we are trying to bring our skill points down to zero to try and start over again. we are almost at zero on everything. we did a test, we've noticed that while at zero you can use your original 480 skill points were ever you want to but any more after that has no effect. once we reach a zero at everything we will start over and see if we can actually use the extra skill points after the original 480. but by the way it looks is that anything after the original 480 skills point don't work. i will update when i'm at zero on everything.

Yea I stumbled upon this glicth as well. I have sent a support ticket but they will never give me a good answer. They say microsoft controls every aspect of xbl, and will not reply when I ask if we can expect a patch. Instead they lock my support ticket, and I have reopen the topic. This basically means we are on our own, ubi is hiding and is unwilling to help.

Rogue, please reply when you have more info on your attempt to fix this problem. When you say you can use your 480, are you saying if we max out our pts and then get redistribution pts we can fix this problem?

That is not true at all. UBI is helping anyway they can in customer support. It is Microsoft that controls the live aspect of the game. Contact Ubi and see what they say first before bashing them.

Sounds like ubi is passing the blame around to me. The game has been out for months.

Is the update to fix the glitch done?
or
Is Microsoft Xbox Live not willing to update the game?

Hi guys,

Would creating a new profile and starting over help? There is an option to set up multiple profiles. If the game has messed up one of you profiles, why not start a new one?

The thing is that I did contact Ubi. They wont reply to anything I ask. The game is a few months old now, so a patch should have been released if they were going to. I know you guys can edit live, it isnt up to microsoft to edit how online play works with your game.

Until we get a patch then we are going to continue to complain until we see results.
