After you've qualified as expert in the stealth training, you have to go to Sgt walters and talk to him. He tells you to bring your stuff for a 48 hour training. But because nothing happened after that I just went back to base and started the stealth training again. When I talked to Walters a 2nd time the advanced sniper training began. You have to overwatch a base and wait for a target to be exposed. I'm already waiting for 2 hours and nothing happens. I hope it's not really a 48 hours mission!

After you achieved advance on the stealth training, you need to leave and go back to base to collect the survival rations you need for the 48 hour overwatch. How do you collect the rations? Just leave the mission via Private Vincent. Once you are back at base, and can choose which mission to choose, do the stealth training again. This time however, go talk to Sergeant Walters and he'll talk about the mission. He'll say...
SGT Walters: "Are you ready to begin? Good. Get your survival rations soldier, we're going to test your patience. This next exercise will last two days."
1SG Rush: "Two days?!"
SGT Walters: "Yes soldier, two days, forty eight hours. While a sniper needs to be trained in marksmanship, environmental awareness and stealth, snipers are often required to spend long periods of time waiting. While you have no doubt heard the saying hours of boredom, moments of excitement to describe your time in the army, this is often literally true for the sniper. You will be required to provide reconnaissance on a target for days at a time behind enemy lines with no relief. The qualification test will consist of acquiring the target and setting up in hindsight. The target will be obscured, and you will have to await permission to engage. At a random time during the next forty eight hours, Sergeant Hurt and myself will drive up and reveal the target for twenty seconds. Do not shoot at the target until it is revealed or you will fail. Do not get acquired by the patrol or you will fail. And if you do not shoot the target in your window of opportunity you will fail."

Now, he will be silent, and you can talk to him again. Do so. He will then say...
SGT Walters: "Stay alert, maintain your focus, and bring a jar."

Now the screen will darken, and you will reappear next to a hill. Climb it, but be quiet. Once near the top, prone. Now crawl towards the ledge overwatching the small base and sentries. Now wait. You will see a spotlight, and four or five guards. A small tent and a table. In the small area in the middle of your view you will see a large box, or hut. That, I do not know what it is for. I am doing the mission as I type, and waiting.

I was just wondering if anyone finished the expert part yet. A friend has this game and we sat and drank a fifth waiting and never seen the target. My research came up wit the responses that it can take the full 48 hrs in real time. Has anyone found out if they expose the target at a certian time every time or if it is just a random time within the 48 hrs?

Yeah I heard that it can be 48 real hours, but the time the target shows up is random, meaning it's not exactly 48 hours every single time, just that it can't go beyond 48 hours. I waited for about 45 minutes tops before I just quit. Although I think this game is backwards compatible for the 360, I don't think anything like that could be attempted with the overheating problems the console has. It probably isn't good for the original Xbox either.

That some very hardcore realism, and I just don't have the patience required for it in a video game lol.
