I have only played the career mode so far, but.... Coming from somebody that was in the Army for 10 years 101st Infantry. The game is not very realistic at all. First: There is no teamwork what-so-ever. It seems as though you are the only person allowed to shoot at the enemy. I can't tell you how many times I've been killed and when the screen pans back see my "team" just standing there. Second: On the Automatic Rifleman stages, since when does a SAW Gunner be the first person to enter a room or climb a ladder? NEVER!!!! Third: Why do I get "promoted" during Career Mode? During the Sniper Stages, I was a SGT and had a PFC ordering me around. That sure as hell wounldn't happen in the real Army. Then during the Automatic Rifleman Stage I am a SSG and my team leader is a SGT ordering me around. Fourth: Why am I the only one that can heal other members of my team, but they won't heal me? Fifth: The SAW Gunner is the most important member of a Fire Team, however, the computer team members will not move out of your way so that you can lay down cover fire. Sixth: There REALLY needs to be a Butt-Stroke move on the game so that I can Butt-Stroke the stupid idiot members of my team when they mess up!

You need to play it online with other people. It's ALOT more fun.

that is quite true....for single player. 82nd airbourne right here and i totally agree. the single player isn't too good, the only time i got to see my gunner shoot was when i had 9 leadership, then he f***in mows down an entire alley of enemies. play it online though. that is where the game REALLY shines. there are a few programming things but the teamwork issue you weretalkin about is gone, i got a 4 man group of buddies im playin with and take it pretty seriously. try it...and love it

Great job! I've played the PC game a ton and this version is very good also.

I have two suggestions:
  • Focus - once you bring up the sights, the focus (autoaim) should stop. It is bad when you are shooting at one opfor and then your aim jumps to another!
  • Binocs - you should be able to hold the binocs and then bring them up to your eyes with a seperate action. Like you can hold a gun and bring up the ironsites.

The crashing is horrible... and looking at the game itself, I don't like how you simply gain experience to qualify for different weapons on multiplayer. It would have been much better to make people qualify, and use experience only to let people attempt to qualify. As of now, people can end up with weapons that don't suit them at all. With no boot option, its impossible to make someone move if they arent as qualified for something as you. Soon... EVERYONE will be a Master Sergeant.

Graphics, while not up to par, I am not worried about. I'd rather have a good game in every other aspect... with graphics at last priority.

Yes...PLEASE add a boot option for the host. Most guys I've played with are cool, but nobody likes playing with a complete tool.

I really haven't seen the crashing issues. I HAVE run into being "stuck" on the team selection screen and not being able to select an assignment. But if you just go ahead with the game you get autoselected and the problem is usually fixed the next round.

Also, expanding beyond 8 w/o a dedicated would be nice...actually I have not been able to set up a dedicated server successfully now that I think of it.

Finally, I would prefer to see more server options for the host, like disabling that oh-so-realistic red dot over an enemy's head, for example.

I think the game is very good in design and principle but it could of been truly great if alot more quality control beta testing could have been done and the load screen freezing and XBox Live drops could have been fixed prior to release. I also think that the corner 'glitch' shooting really downgrades the game.
I hope that this game is released for the XBox 360 with the enhanced and upgraded graphics. I hope that the 'glitches', and freezing is resolved.
Maybe Ubisoft should of chosen Red Storm to produce this great tittle instead of Secret Level, then perhaps America's Army would look and feel more realistic and less buggy (i.e. Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon 2: Summit Strike)

I have been waiting for this game ever since I read a preview for it a few months ago in a magazine. I was, and still am, unable to get the PC version due to my slow computer. I think UBI had the goldmine of game ideas. "The most ralistic game ever!" they advritised. then why, is it so RIDUCULOUSLY non-realistic. your teammates barely help you, and to become the highest ranking online, it only requires a few hours of work (as opposed to years of service). I intend to join the army soon, and couldn't wait to get my hands on this. This game idea deserves so much more than this. I think ubi should have looked to this as an epic project, not a low budget quick game.

a couple problems that alot of people have said, were they wish you could change maps without leaving the server, to be able to fix the skill point glitch, to be able to boot people from their server, and to be able to hold more than eight people in a server without being dedicated.

I think it's an amazing game! 10 out of 10 for gameplay, but graphics about a 7...Not bad, but a major think is that mouths don't move! Also, the second sniper training is too insanly hard! Any one got any tips?

Excellent Military Sim, but too many BUGS AND GLITCHES, just fix it, and put some new Maps on the Server and a Patch for some Graphicupdates, and it will be a great Game Smile

Remember no bad language and do this in a civil manner. Getting feedback from the community is really important here since this is the official place to talk about it. So if you want your opinions to be taken seriously then I would suggest it be done in a polite and proper manner.

That's because your a halo lovin'-twerp. The game is great.
My first impression was instantly: love the menu music, love the gameplay, graphics are pretty damn good if you exclude stair animations and that one mission that they do close-ups on people talking without their mouths moving. I was wowed.
And even after I have seen the glitches and crashes, this is still my opinion. Sure, it needs a fix. BUT STOP COMPLAINING!
Most of the people on AA seem to have BattleField2 and i wonder how many of those ppl had it before they fixed the problems on that game. If everyone had bought battlefield2 the first couple of weeks and had the same resolve as you than NOBODY would still have it, even though it is one of the most popular xbox games out there.
Another thing,
If the game sucked so bad, why are you still looking on the forum.
Some People. I'm Out.
