Warning - Spoilers Ahead
Okay the other day I came across a youtube video of what seemed to be another level walkthrough of the E3 demo. An Ubi Rep is talking the presenter through the different level stages while the presenter for the show translates. Anyway towards the end when Sam is nearing Kobin's quarters where the projection of Sarah pops up the Rep says " So here again is another one of the cutscene/movie sequences telling the story of Sam's daughter, who he thought had died but had been kidnapped" " Link here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...gyXLK0#t=06m27s I was like Take what you want from it. It sounds like its legit. |

That seems pretty official to me, this also may be why Sam wouldn't be in the next SC, after the shock of the incident Sam would decide he couldn't put his family in that kind of danger anymore

Wow, that's the second slip up on this front.
I really really really hope that Ubisoft wasn't this stupid. I mean Sam BURIED HER!! Since she's got no immediate family apart from him and he was most likely in charge of the funeral do you think he just forgot to check if her corpse was in the casket? Are we supposed to believe that the NSA took care of all of the arrangements and he stupidly just played along because he was so stricken with grief? Sheeeeesh... ---------------- Sam:I AM Sam Fisher!! Hear me ROOOAAWWR!! Grrrr... Guard: What was that? |

That's the problem with Ubi nowadays.
They think all the fans are stupid action junkies. Seen it with R6 and now SC. I have the fifth freedom... so watch out, here I come Originally registered July 17, 2002 |

Hmmm, pretty interesting. I am wondering what they did with Sarah for the 2 or 3 years since D/A? I am glad they are bringing her and Lambert back as that was my original reason for boycotting all Ubisoft games but it will be interesting to see how they explain why they kidnapped her and then kept her alive? I'm assuming the kidnapping and faking her death was to get Sam to quit 3E but the rest will be interesting to find out. Now if Ubisoft would only allow the option to toggle off the LKP and display things, and add the original options back to Sams googles, I would end my boycott and buy this game.

Well, one thing I hate about 24 is how dead people comes to live over and over again |

Shadowfox, they could have taken another girl and performed surgery on her to make her look like Sarah. Also if he was in so much grief someone else might have volunteered to make the arrangements.
I am a splinter cell, perhaps they will use her as bargaining tool or something |

What was the story of Essentials? |

Lol, he screwed up big; though I can't say I'm at all surprised. I half suspected to find out Sarah wasn't really dead in the end of Double Agent. And taking in to consideration the sour reception her death caused I would've honestly been surprised to find out that she really was dead.
Though I do think this requires a good deal of explaining, for example everything Shadow said a few posts up. On the up side, I saw Sam flick off a light switch, metaphorically, there was no animation |

Wow, the logic of her being kept alive after what I presume is at least 2-3 years of being kidnapped, it's just mind-boggling!!!
Does Sarah have some sort of John Nash/Will Hunting code-breaking genius??? Is she aware the Matrix has her? Is she really good in bed? Of course, this makes perfect sense, since she'll probably be the lead in Splinter Cell 6 (aka Splinter Cell: Daddy's Little Girl). |

This whole thing is disgustingly gimmicky. Sarah's death wasn't even that drawn out. We learn about it for about three seconds in the beginning of DA, with nothing more than a montage of an angry Sam, and now we are expected to think that this was some sort of conspiracy? I'm sorry, but if you want to use Sarah's death as a major plot device in Conviction, it would have been good to, gee, I don't know, have us get to know her first? I feel nothing for this character. We saw her very very briefly in the first game, and never heard about her again until DA. I hope Ubisoft can make this work.

I'm actually not that surprised, all interviews and footage that dealt with Sarah seemed to suggest that she may still be alive. And then there's that Kotoku article that hinted at the possibility.
Anyways, I am surprised that Ubisoft thinks this is a good plot device. What next? Will it be revealed that Lambert is in fact Sam's long lost twin brother who went through extensive surgery and legally changed his name? DUN DUN DUUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN. --- I want a proper sequel to Chaos Theory that retains the same core gameplay mechanics and storytelling seen in the series pre-Double Agent while adding to the experience with innovative features. I do not want a rehash or clone of Chaos Theory. |

I jokingly suggested this before aswell, but it's beyond ludicrous and utterly idiotic to ponder using this as a plot device in a Tom Clancy game. That means that they would have had to kidnap the other girl, hold her, perform surgery on her months in advance and make sure she is IDENTICAL in appearance, to a father who knows his own flesh and blood better than anyone else in existence and then kill her, while kidnapping Sarah, sell the whole idea to Sam and fool Lambert about the whole situation JUST to get Sam to undertake a mission that he wasn't really trained for anyway. LOL I'm sorry. That's ridiculous and if this is true then I'm going to boycott all Ubisoft games and slate this game to no end for the rest of my days. "Losing the plot" is not even close to a describing this game if this turns out to be true. They must have sat down and actually thought really hard about how they could make this game the biggest action movie cliché of all time. ---------------- Sam:I AM Sam Fisher!! Hear me ROOOAAWWR!! Grrrr... Guard: What was that? |

Don't forget the fact that Ubisoft thought it makes sense to give an emotionally distressed guy "The Most Dangerous Mission of His Life" in order to relieve him of his depression. At least it's cheaper than therapy!

Alright, seriously...how could this story make sense:
How about if Sarah was kidnapped by some terrorist organization for the purposes of either getting info from her about Sam, or to draw out Sam. Lambert finds out about the kidnapping first, and decides to fabricate the drunk driver story to protect Sam, while he negotiates for her release without Sam's knowledge. Lambert's near death encounter in Double Agent leaves nobody to help Sarah. Then Sam travels through time...where are you going...this is where it gets complicated. |

Damn, I wouldn't doubt if that guy got fired. Talk about letting the cat out of the bag.

dude i think that the whole kidnapping thing is pretty stupid. but an answer to the whole surgerey thing is probably not the case but if sam was told that she was so damaged by the car that it had to be a closed casket then he would never know. so that might be the case.

To shadowfox, I agree it is extremely stupid plot. I wouldn't be surprised if the writers decided they f up DA storyline so bad that they decided they needed to bring her back and that was the only way they could thing of.
