This may belong in the "Off Topic" section but... shrug.

Has anyone read the Splinter Cell books? A friend of mine is a complete fanatic about them. She's even visited the places Sam has been in the US, or something like that.

Just curious to see what you all have to say about them. I haven't picked them up but have been considering it for some time now.

Thoughts?

uh, yeah! Just like what everyone else will say after me: The first two books were amazing, but the third, meh.

I've only read the first one so far, and it was alright. I've got the second and third sitting on my stack of Game Informers, but haven't gotten around to reading them.

The third is a bit slow...nah hang on...its more...erm...its just about missions so far, no emotion but I'm only a bit into it...
Its still good but like the second one was better that a Bond film...by far...

All of them are pretty good! Smile

As a matter of fact I just finished SC:Checkmate (yeah it took me a while - I was on a mission so don't ask)! Smile

Sorry, you know I can't talk about that because otherwise I'd have to kill you and considering you're such a nice guy, I'd really miss you! Big Grin

Gypsy, if you have any questions about the SC books, please IM me. I've been working with the authors ever since Operation Barracuda was being written. I can answer any questions you have. Smile

I LOVE THE BOOKS!

They are all good but the first two (Especially the second one) is AMAZING.

I'll admit that the third one took me a long time to read because i just couldn't stay reading it for awhile...a little boring... Sad

i found the third book boring the first time i read it too, but i've recently finished re-reading it, and when you pay close attention to the story, it actually isn't that bad. I just didn't enjoy how sam did more traveling than spying Frown

dont have the patience for Sam Fisher?! Eek

seriously though, you could always carry the book around and read it whenever you have down time or something.
I do that a lot, and you'll be amazed as to how much extra time you have, and how fast the book will reach its back cover Wink
