You've highlighted the problem with continuing the series on from SCDA, blabla.

There were two different versions of the game, with their own story differences (both had choices and the next gen had multiple endings).

They've said they won't be continuing the SCDA storyline, and SCC will be a standalone game. Though SC: Essentials follows on from SCDA, so they might pick up on elements from that storyline.
