Pretty much everybody will be able to tell that Splinter Cell: Conviction won't be very similar to the last Splinter Cell games by the cover art and box description alone. That's not even considering that most people who go out to buy the game will buy it because they saw a commercial for it and the commercial will show them that it's not going to be like the first Splinter Cell games. It's unlikely that somebody will go to a store, see the game, not notice the box art or description of the game, and still buy it. The only people who would buy the game just because of the Splinter Cell name are probably the most dedicated Splinter Cell fans, and they're the kind of people who have probably done some prior research about the game.

Can I have that option? Pretty, pretty please?

but they are spending a lot more money to make a new game because they truly think that it would please people more.

Not really. IMO, which Ubi has yet to deny, the changes in SC were done to recoup AC development costs. But, it sounds like that may have not worked out (WOOHOO), so it's delayed, hopefully because they're blending some of the old, awesome stuff with their "new" ideas (and not because they're insistent on making this new direction work all on its own).
Trust me on this, the bottom line is always the dollar. They don't care about pleasing people – just look at what happened with DA for the PC.

I thought SCDA for the xbox pleased a decent amount of people. Well, more than the X360 versions. So, I guess the Montreal team does care with the effort that was put into that game.

Its the Shanghai team you think that doesnt really care. The team that is making SCC must care somehow.

True, but in the end, it's all still Ubisoft; they released Shanghai's game knowing it had issues (that or they didn't test it properly...).

And, AC was way buggy. Wink

I can't believe DA was so bad. Something good came of my decicion to stay with the old xbox longer. Montreals DA is just great (CT=DA) althought it takes Xbox to its limit. "Xbox's Showdown" like many reviews say. Just the menu and music give me chills. I guess more people should play it, i am not going to touch the 360 version atleast after all this flame Cool
Full support for current Ubi Soft road. Montreal just gave the easy job to Shanghai.

I see exactly the same opinions as in Bungie forums. Some people just wanted to Halo3 become HaloCE again with pistols and all, some wanted even to reduce the weapons or enemies. Halo 3 didn't end up perfect but certainly is better than Halo:CE rerun. Chief isnt about his old Mark V armour, and Sam isnt about his goggles. Just keep Ironside bow doing the job. Wherever i hear him i always think Sam, bad for his other career, but who cares Roll Eyes.

I guess of my opinion Montreal should've been doing the 360 version from the get go. The way I see it, the 360 version was $10 more, so the effort should've been that much more.

As for the original version, I play very little of the story. And the MP did not impress me at all. To me it was nothing but a frag fest.

And like Coastal girl said. People saying that Shanghai is to blame are wrong. UBISOFT is to blame.

As for the op. If, and I mean if the devs are feeling the heat to change anything like the gameplay for either the sp or the mp then that's a good thing. Because there not going to change a thing if a handful of people are complaining.

But I think that they delayed it because it's just not ready or they got bad feedback from the few problems that AC has and are making corrections.
Either way it will only make the finished game better. If not then I feel the series is dead.
