Nice interview (makin' this up as my sig implies Wink)

Reporter versus Ubisoft:

R: what's up with the change?
U: We thought the game needed some changes
R: Lots of people don't like the changes to the formula, are you aware of this?
U: Yes we are.
R: Why this 'year of silence'
U: I thought you liked being kept in the dark Big Grin
R: Not funny.
U: Not intended to be funny.
R: I'm gonna publish a very negative review.
U: You still want to leave this building?
R: wasn't I supposed to ask questions.
U: Yes, you are. You can leave the buildings, but be carefull when you see groups of lots of people........

Well now your sig is not whispering that you make stuff up. You just make stuff up now, normally. I don't mind that much because I only use animations half the time. The other half is old-school. ^_^

I think this thread has gotten... pretty useless, seeing how negative rants will exist for always and forever until the end of the world and will never remain in just one thread.

Well said LISM... but a thread is never useless if you can have fun in it. Smile

@UbiRazz: You guys gave us a decent amount of fun too, so you've earned it Wink

If you start to find my terrible sense of humor annoying... I need training in that... some "It's not like you can shake me, and make my ammo fall on the floor"-like lines Big Grin

Better to have an annoying sense of humor than none at all, my friend. Wink

The smileys are hiding within the public servers, among a large crowd of url's.

We know they are there,
We just don't know where.
They are moving along,
Killing us won't take long.
We know they are there,
We just don't know where.
please smileys, come back,
and don't break my neck.

What people need to do is stop making the same damn thread that's nothing but crying about the development process. We have like, what? Five different threads on the same topic?

Well, all I can say is: even if Ubisoft is changing almost every game mechanic that's been used in Splinter Cell through out its history, even if they are taking away every iconic element that made Sam Fisher and the franchise itself recognizable to everyone (i.e. the Night Vision Goggles and L&S gameplay)... even if they are doing all of this, as a fan, I'm more than willing to give SC: Conviction an opportunity.

Yeah, there's a chance it might not be well received by everyone, and lots of self-proclaimed fans may even avoid it, or it could also be a really great game, worthy of the series in its own way, we can't really tell what's going to happen. But one thing is for sure: Ubisoft is taking the risk nevertheless, they want to try a different approach, give the series a new spin, and I definitely support that.

That's what I think, besides... there's always a Splinter Cell 6, right?. Wink

Lol, um, nooooo, it's actually number five.

ConVVVVVViction

V = 5th roman numeral.

You don't count old- and current-gen Double Agent's as two separate titles, and as far as I've heard, Essentials is just a spin-off rather than an actual continuation of the series.

So it's fifth. Wink

Depends on if you would actually consider Essentials as a full Splinter Cell episode instead of just as a Teaser for Splinter Cell Double Agent / Conviction.

Not to mention, he's supposed to be fifty-three. If they haven't locked his age at forty-two anyway. Shady

See? All that freedom he has, that he wouldn't have if Echelon was keeping him on a leash in the dark. This'll be a good game. Wink

Yes, now he has the freedom to do more important things than saving the world, such as throwing security guards around like ragdolls with his superhuman strength and blowing up hotdog stands and stealing laptops to create "diversions."

Exactly what he said. And Ubisoft seem to see it this way, that's why they emphasize the 'V' in "ConViction".

Would you quit bi%#*ng so much and just accept the change. Don't you understand that the shadow wont always be the safest place, sometimes you have to fight for what is right.

Snow, I hate to say it, but you need to take your own advice.

You just need to accept that there will always be people who are not happy with the change, who have a different opinion than you.

And I can't understand why you tell him to stop complaining yet all the while you're complaining about him complaining.

Please, too much complaining here! Roll Eyes
