Halo : If that's your opinion, why bother coming here to tell us? No offense dude, but it doesn't really add anything to the discussion. Any more than coming in with the "LOLZ, THS GME ROXXORS" adds anything constructive either. Since none of us, as far as I know, have ever worked in such an high profile position as a video-game company like Ubi I don't think it's really fair of us to criticise them for taking the time to make a game that works, only for us to ***** at them for not doing it fast enough. Or to release a game before it's finished only for us to ***** at them for not making it work properly.

You can't have it both ways people. We just have to be patient. It's not the old days when some kid in his bedroom could program a game in a couple of hours anymore

Bob, this place is flooded with opinions if you haven't noticed.Razz

You'd be surprised at the amount of veterans and frequent visitors who openly state that they don't even plan to rent the game, let alone consider buying it.

Don't worry about it.

Bleh, I hate seeing people complain. We'll get info when it comes, obviously there is a reason why there's nothing new being shown.

Get a hobby or something to keep you entertained until then. Believe it or not, SC isn't life. Yeah, took me a while to understand it too, but you'll learn. Razz

first of all people are mad, because the lack of info came after 2 delays, after the delays it went cold turkey.people are mad over time wondering if they decided to redo the whole thing or not even do it.the people who've been here the longest are mad because they've been here the longest.they've been through most of the games.for the most part its not a question on who's loyal or not.2nd of every game is similar to another.wow, grand theft auto is 3rd person, and has a cover shooting system, its like gears of war.splinter cell is third person also.thats a amazing observation Clap
adding to the point before its also not a question if you like the direction that splinter cell has taken.

Something I've observed just today is Microsoft's take on this.

They're offering a lot of money to make this game an exclusive, and they're being shut out just like the rest of us on how the development is coming.

The only difference between them and us is, they're more of a development-funding client, not a customer simply buying the product at the end.

Does anyone think Microsoft is or should be putting pressure on Ubisoft to get some information out?

Which is exactly the reason why moderators encourage constructive comments instead of negative criticism and insults. Ubisoft isn't going to take us seriously or even want to listen to us if we just whine and complain and throw insults around.

Try it from a friendly, positive standpoint and you might get progress. Look at Ghost Recon for example. Paladin set up a suggestion thread in the Advanced Warfighter forums, which the developers frequently read, and it has grown to more than thirty pages of suggestions over the years, all of which I have personally read and seen are positive, constructive suggestions, not negative complaints and insults. That thread has gotten feedback and good results for how it's been approached in a positive, respected manner.

If what you are saying is true (which I find hard to believe by the way, but i take your word for it), I'm a little disappointed. Microsoft have every right to know what's going on since they have paid to make the game exclusive. I think the idea of pressure might not be a great idea, but they might consider raising the question about what's going on, and I certainly think MS (like us) should expect something soon.
To be honest with you, I just can't see that this is true but since I have no knowledge whatsoever on this, I can't argue against you. My assumption would have been that there is still some communication with Ubi and MS ... perhaps not necessarily specific info being given to MS about the game but I would assume that there has been some sort of communication. With us there is neither communication nor information about the game but I should think the difference is that MS are probably being informed on progress or something of the sort.

M$ I think theyre too busy with GOW2 hopefully theyll make a big deal about it so Ubisoft decides to say something. Besides both companies arent that different one doesnt talk or listen to its fans and the other one rips off their fans because they are interested in money. M$ recently announced that theyve sold 10 million 360s and im betting most of those people had to buy another 360 because their first, second, third, etc broke.

Hmm... interested in money. That's outright preposterous, no large company is interested in money!

Well if someone is really dumb enough to buy three new boxes each time their old one bricks, instead of taking advantage of the warranty, Microsoft is probably just doing them a favor by taking their thousands of dollars off their hands for them.

Don't worry about it so much, that was just something I thought off the top of my head, no need to dig so deep into it. Wink

That's probably not the case anyway. Microsoft most likely doesn't really care about the development process as long as Ubisoft doesn't void the exclusivity terms.

In my opinion, the year isn't bad at all. I had to wait four years for Kingdom Hearts II, lmao!

Get your own Gamercard Sig.

Argh. Wrong! I have a Disturbia picture and my score is 1115! I hardly play GoW too. I mostly play SC and Hitman. AND I have all stars too! Bah. XD

I've been waiting since SCCT for a good successor for it. That's also 3 years now. Since I doubt SCC will release in 2008, it might go to 4 years after all.

Worse things have happened in life, and this isn't really all that bad.

We'll all live to see another day, and they'll release information eventually.

Still, my holiday starts in a week... and ends after 2 months...
2 other holidays come after that... and in neither of them I can play ConViction.

It might be here next year summer. They still haven't delayed it yet, have they?

I hope this lack of information is due to the fact that they will be re implementing Merc vs spy.

ERN, your statement about Microsoft isn't true, people don't like them just because they're a large business but if you payed attention then about 5 different models of the xbox have been released all improving upon the other, the replacements are also free. I've got a 1st edition xbox downstairs which has had NO PROBLEMS at all and an elite upstairs with no problems. The media has just blown the overheating out of proportion.
Microsoft are probably in on the know with Conviction, they won't be to busy with GoW because they would have separate teams for each game, another difference is M$ aren't actually publishing SC, just giving 'em a large sellout backhander to keep it exclusive, and as we've seen, if the route has more money then UBI will take it without a second thought ^^,

ORsaleen, i'm almost 100% that there won't be Spy vs Merc. Even if they did implement it then it would probably be crap because they wouldn't want to "confuse" the new players that DA attracted Wink
