"Splinter Cell: Manhunt Style with GTA car driving" also has Splinter Cell in it's name. What's your point?

The point is, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell ConViction is a registered title, while yours is entirely made up of your mind! Wink2

FFS:
Syntactically, it's a Splinter Cell game.
Semantically, it's not according to many.

ok, what is thsi with creating the games for only certain systems? Has anyone played the Essentials? Because apparently that one was only created for psp. So I haven't played that one yet. I just now ordered Chaos Theory for ps2, now I will need a new computer or XBox to play Conviction!?!?!? AAAHHHHHH!!!

Around Summer 2008. That's a guess. It'll probably postponed till Christmas or even 2009.

First of all, thanks to everyone who helped get JediWithASniper off my case Wink2

Now, I know most of you can't read Big Grin, but the Sam Fisher in ConViction sounds a lot more like the Sam Fisher in the Splinter Cell books. He's a lot rougher, get spotted a lot more, and whisper uses his guns!!

BTW, the hobo look may just be a disguise! Those flannel work shirts are made from Kevlar!!

They are doing that because of the mistake they made the first time. PC, PS2, Xbox, Gamecube. The same game came out with all the systems, so no matter what system you owned you could get the game and another company wouldnt get the money. Now if you want to get a certain game, chances are you will have to buy that game console giving the company that makes the console more money. I am getting Conviction for the PC. I didnt want to get a pc but my old one commited suicide so i had no choice and I figure WTH. I can do more with a computer then i can do with an Xbox 360.

I feel ya ... I used to play games on my computer, but the games have out grown my computer. The whole reason I bought ps2 was to play DA. Now ConViction isn't made for ps2 so I guess I'm forced to upgrade the computer now. I've been wanting to do that anyway, its just a matter of getting the money.

Ok about Engine, peoples who said that its UE3 right and peoples who said its UE 2.5 not.

the same error was with SCDA - there was 2 completely different versions of game. OLD GEN for PS2 XBOX Wii by Montreal powered by UE 2.5 engine (highy modified version based on same SCCT version).
And the NEXT GEN version by Shanghai for PC 360 PS 3 powered by UE 3 engine (also highly modified but all core engine scripts, AI logic, parts of graphics migrated from SCCT powered by UE 2.5, UE 3 allows such type of migration so both versions of game have start point from SCCT engine).
But all peoples around when was talking about PC version though that its UE 2.5 engine (seems that nobody read the CREDITS in the end of the game, and nobody seen UE 3 logo there and during initial start of the game)

If engine highly modified by 3rd party companies that doesnt mean that version of engine should have different number (someone said that it should be called UE 3.5 then, but its not, bcoz only epic allow to give version number to their engine)

SCC looks pretty impressive, visualy it have some UE 3 specific lighting and some other visual elements (but Montreal guys changed so many things so u can c how different SCC from other UE 3 powered games).

But as all we know SCCT was prety far away from other UE 2.5 games (it was close enough to UE 3 version of SCDA), so u all know how good GFX coders in Montreal.

Just listen what game producer says in video interview:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=7gnKFOXFDLE
He says that start point was all the things made by UBI Shanghai, that they started from that point and advanced 2 much.
So u can count this interview as official word that SCC uses UE 3 engine.
But its UBI Montreal, there are still many parts of sourcecode migrated from both UE 2.5 SCCT and UE 3 SCDA + UE 2.5 SCDA, and all the things again highly modified.

BY the way, i didnt seen that somebody here noticed that SCC gameplay very similar to Assasin Creed!
Similarity visible both in gameplay and in GFX, so its looks like SCC and Assasin creed sharing same version of game engine (atleas Ai and modules responsible for GROUP of peoples\pedestrians in game. If u doubt about it just look close to AC and SCC, pedistrians behaviour looks pretty same, same IDEA of hiding withing group of peoples, same SHADOWless stealth, and same "IF U SPOTTED RUN like hell" + "FIND GROUP OF PEOPLE AND use the HOOD to hide" technique.
But when Altair can Run on a walls and roofs, Sam can throw the chairs.

But really im afraid that such game mechanics will same boring as Assasin Creed...
Both game made by same company and peoples from split POP and SC teams works together for sure)
First hour when i was playing AC it was non stopable "WOW", but all the other hours i was forced to do same and same things, this system of AUTOparkur (runing on the walls) that doesnt give any chalenge and fun and so simple so peoples with IQ less then 0 can play it.
This new general IDEA of last 3 years to makes games very simple isnt GOOD, i dont like what happened with R6 and GHOST RECON, also i dont like of simplified LIGHT and SOUND detectors and inreface of SCDA... and now finaly SCC looks like simplified everything!

P.S. - please read my post about IDEA of COMBINED new and old style gameplay http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/5271091065/m/7...471029136#5471029136

SCCT and SCDA used 2.5, not 3. 3 wasn't even released at that time. We're talking more than 3 years ago for CT!
