Weve been waiting for a while posting our ideas and thoughts about the game and you have barely said a peep. Please remember that at the end of the day its your consumer fans that cough up the money on your games that eventually gives you a paycheck. We would like something in return every once in a while.
Although I understand your frustration, you have to keep in mind, that according to the latest info, the game's release is scheduled for November this year, so there's still plenty of time to hype it. However, the Ubi Days event is pretty close maybe we'll get to see some new (more advanced) footage from there - which is pretty likely.

He said Ubidays is pretty close, not ConViction's release. And Ubidays is a month away. "ConViction is so different, you wonder what makes Ubisoft think this should even be called a sequel to the critically acclaimed and groundbreaking series." – IGN.com

Precisely! I don't know for sure, if we're going to see Conviction at the UbiDays, but if Ubi still wants to release the game this November, it's pretty likely we'll get to see something about SCC at the event.

Exactly what I was thinking, one of their best games and most anticipated. I think this year-long information drought has been preparation to release a massive amount of juicy info in one day and make everyones' minds explode. He said the same in January. Which makes it, count with me...,indeed 4-5 months. I know we all anticipated news around the GDC or some other event, but unfortunately it wasn't meant to be. My translation still fits perfectly.

Actually I didn't. In fact, I didn't even know if or when there would be a UbiDays event this year, at that time.

Well, if they hold an Ubidays event this year and Splinter Cell Conviction doesn't make a showing then that's a bad sign.
If Conviction is due fall of 2008 then we should start seeing some marketing info or screenshots roughly 4-6 months before the game's ship date. If we get to July and August and Ubi is still silent then you can expect another big delay (i.e. game pushed to 2009).
A third delay would all but confirm that a major trainwreck has occurred. Either something is wrong with the game engine or they have had a change creative direction because the gameplay just wasn't coming together.

Not another year and then what after SCC Shanghai my god Ubisoft you better give use some info before we go insane. Then its not a 2 year wait it will be a 6 year wait my god that triples my best estimates. Yes I know im quoting Lambert lets just say Im about to lose it.

I read you, ERN456. I did the math too. It doesn't look good.

This SC game better be good and about L&S I really dont want to wait six years.

Wow, six whole years? What kind of math did you do?! "ConViction is so different, you wonder what makes Ubisoft think this should even be called a sequel to the critically acclaimed and groundbreaking series." – IGN.com

Last years wait + 2008 wait until 2009 + 1 year for Shanghais game + 1 year for release + 1 year for Montreal game +1 year for release = 6 years.

Well then I'm glad to show you the truth, taken from an interview with Thomas Geffroyd: quote: Ubisoft Montreal was responsible for the first and third Splinter Cells, now it's working on the fifth. Can we expect that Ubisoft Shanghai [developer of Pandora Tomorrow and Double Agent] will be working on the sixth installment in the series?
Thomas - Absolutely not, it's always been about a matter of getting the right idea for a Splinter Cell game, and pushing for it at the right time. It's not about getting a business system, it's more about getting an idea and working on it. It's true that we pushed for it [Conviction] to be done at Montreal, because we felt it was more comfortable for us as fathers of the franchise for the game to 'come home', especially with the change in direction of the series. We wanted to ensure that it maintained its integrity.
That is to say, they have tossed it back and forth on a regular schedule so far, but the truth is, if the series undergoes a major change, it most likely will be handled by Montreal. Following that logic, if Ubisoft decides to make Splinter Cell Six into another social stealth game (unlikely) it will go to Shanghai as it's not a major change, and if it goes back to light and shadow (obviously that's what everyone is begging their souls to death for) it will stay at Montreal because going from social stealth back to light and shadow needs to be handled as a major, major direction change for the good of it all and should clearly be handled by the big guns. So... I have defied logic and chopped your best estimates in half, mister "ConViction is so different, you wonder what makes Ubisoft think this should even be called a sequel to the critically acclaimed and groundbreaking series." – IGN.com

So i say thanks for proving me wrong now I dont get to wait until 2014 for a decent SC game unless this one is changed into what SC really is.
