I know some SC fans defend it NO MATTER WHAT. But I am just wondering if I am the only person that does not like the direction SC took/is taking...

I fell in LOVE with the franchise, I played all SC's. SC1) I loved SC2) I enjoyed, thought it was short. SC3) I was bugged on his physical image changed, but the game was the best.

SC4) I enjoyed, but felt like it was going in this direction that I KNEW I was not going to like. They put some cool add ins with the game, but took out alot of what I liked.. I LOVE being a splinter cell, hiding in the darks, being SNEAKY.. I also found parts of the game boring, walking begin people for TOO long.. I got angree each time I found myself at the Headquarters of the 'bad guys'.. lol!

Now SC conviction - it seems like they stripped away most of the rest of what was good about SC. From the vids, I can tell the game play is FUN. But it is not what I consider a SPINTER CELL game..

My opinion is - if Ubisoft wants to go in this direction on making a game.. COOL! I'll play it, I'll buy it.. BUT!!! Take those ideas into a NEW and DIFFERENT francise, not SPINTER CELL. SC games are the ONLY games, I WAIT for.
I think MOST OF US, fell in love with Spinter Cell because of the sneaky tactics, hiding in the dark, the outfit, the style.. TO me it's like stripping Batman, from the bat suit, the bat cave, and just walked around as BRUCE WAYNE.

I would really LOVE another SPINTER CELL game. Not this what is coming out.. (Not with SAM FISHERS name on it, Not with SPINTER CELL on it..

Anyone agree/disagree? Lets talk, let me know what you think?

I don't really enjoy the negativity either guys, but they have the right to complain if they want to as long as they don't go against the rules. The game will speak for itself. If you are looking forward to the game, stay positive as the release comes. Happy

Ya I agree with you, the splinter cell games is the number 1 franchise. UBISOFT is taking it to the next generation. They have expand their investment with CHINA.

I think that Splinter cell has the best graphics out of any game out there. If they take it to the next level it would be a all new characters in SC.

Look at EA sports their graphics are struggling compared with UBISOFT. Still the same since 2000?

Splinter Cell is the Number 1 game out there with the lastest and next generation of graphics.

honestly da wasn't very good, it was kinda boring, they kept the stealthy approach of the game, and it indeed was fun but i missed the talks between sam and lambert, the game lost his touch and his humor, no longer funny lines and jokes and sarcasm.
and i didn't really care about the gadget i more cared about that it's no longer splinter cell.
i mean we got used to be sam fisher nsa agent, the level were pretty nice but it wasn't the same game that we liked.
and evry mission i kept waiting for a cool cut-scene, to see how the plot continues, even tough the plot of sc franchise is pretty sucks.
anyway if i had more info about conviction, more footage and info i gues i was more hayped about it, and it turns into a good title, i guess i wont mind if da wasn't very good because i'll consider it as a link game.

*sorry for my english

After the 53 CTd's, 2 BSOD's, crappy storyline that was my SCDA experience, and now the deathdealing blow to the Splinter Cell franchise, I won't buy another UBI game.

Want to 'nextgen'-ize the SC franchise? Great, make a new game, with a new name.

Otherwise, don't fix it if it ain't broke.

I completely agree with rasheed. Excellent Batman analogy.

I'm glad I'm not the onlyone.. lol!

It's not that I HATE what SPINTER CELL has begun. I just think these ideas they are using, should be in another NEW francise.. Keep Spinter Cell Special, for what we all love it for..

SC Conviction looks FUN, looks like something I would get. But as Spinter Cell NO!! To me it's like opening a present and it's something you like but not what you were waiting for..

like food, lets say you wanted a slice of pizza.. U like burgers too, but you GO to a Pizza place for Pizza, but they FORCE you to eat burgers. It's like WTF? Where my pizza? I came here for PIZZA.. lol!

Get me? I WAIT for Splinter Cell, to do the missions, hide, sneak up on dudes, getting creative with not being seen. etc.. But If I open the package and get Rainbow six for example.. (I like Rainbow 6) but I'll be pissed because that is not what I went to go buy.. U know??

So the series is less 'Splinter Cell' and more 'Sam Fisher' but i am fine with that =)

The same reason everyone assumes that people that don't like the direction SCC is going are just "afraid to try new things". Tongue

Seriously, it’s not a matter of trying something new. It’s a matter of knowing yourself, and your likes and dislikes.

New things belong in a new series of games. Keep Splinter Cell about being a Splinter Cell or don't use Splinter Cell for the title of a non-Splinter Cell game.

It's still Splinter Cell. Sam Fisher is the main character, it is the sequel to Splinter Cell: Double Agent, it has Third Echelon, and the games main focus is stealth. The only difference is Ubisoft wants to make Splinter Cell fresh. If they just rehashed the same playing style over and over with a new story, it would get boring.

I'm not bothered by it in the least.

Really, the story sounds better and better to me. Beginning with Double Agent, the story got a neccessary face lift. For me, it's what was always lacking from the first 3 games.....a good story. The first three felt like episodes in a show, while Double Agent felt like a movie. I think making things more personal, and giving Sam all the limelight is a smart thing to do. Yeah, Ubisoft probably could have milked the Splinter Cell formula for another 2 or 3 games, maybe even more, before we all got tired of it. I appreciate that they want to do something new and fresh.
