first, why is every1 dissappointed about this game? no matter what it is still stealth you dont have to hade in a friggen crawl space to hide... crowds are just as good. plus yu are able to bludgen your opponent with a chair! im lookin forward to buyin Conviction...

second, why is it moved back so much on the release date? it was first for feb of 2008 then april now august or september or something... that aint cool. i mean im glad with checkin the bug and all since DA's campaign was buggy but they should at least give us a demo on Xbox marketplace or a multiplayer BETA i wanna see how it is, i think we all do.

you dont have to reply but it would be cool if you guys read this and say if you agree... well then that would be a reply o well but thanks for reading if ya did THANKS Big Grin

"Every1" isn't. Some of us just plain don't like the idea. We want something we'll enjoy playing, and what we saw of SCC wasn't it.
Now, that doesn't mean it's going to be a bad game, but it certainly didn't look like a Splinter Cell.

I take it you haven't played AC. Tongue

I'm going to be honest, here. Bludgeoning someone is not that appealing to me. Wink

Yes, I've often wondered why such a 'revolutionary' feature of being able to pick up anything and use it as a weapon was used in Splinter Cell, a stealth game, of all options...

It's a joke! When you look at me like that, it's a joke.

I agree, your weapons are suppose to be your last resort.

The est release is still Q2 2008, no DATE has been confirmed or even reported outside some game stores (and they're chronically wrong about those things).

And I must say that using sticky shockers on guards was far from my last resort, it is a tool, and tools are used to do what you're there to do.
A classic difference of approach, I prefer to be pragmatic rather than forcing myself to fulfill some "ideal" about how the game "should" be played

Well, while the SC's are stealth games, I'm not suggesting that players should not have the option to go assault if they want to. I just think that in a stealth game, stealth should be an option, too.

And, if anyone created the "ideal", it was Ubi when they added the stealth score. Wink2

Like mentioned previously, it's not that it looks like a bad game per se, but the series itself has gone from this:

To this:

Extreme pics. Where are old style shootouts and knife runs or stealth and slow walking from new one. When they stand in middle of room they look almost same. It still isn't comparison of stealth and fighting game.

However. I don't see Conviction being that far after seeing the one trailer and tidbits. Logical continuation.

Some people ripped their Xboxes after having to play as Elite in Halo2, so I quess it's inevitable arguing.

Honestly the screens look good. I am hoping that its going to be like a Bourne Identity game. Im picturing the scene in the third bourne movie where he is in the train station helping the reporter duck the CIA. Weave through the crowd and get a prepaid cell phone, drop it in a contacts pocket and slip away and walk him through a series of agents to get together. I think that will actually be fun. The only way i think it can get messed up is if it becomes repetative (cough cough ASSASINS CREED cough). Right now I just want to hear something for all we know this could be another Duke Nukem Forever! Dont do this to us UBI some kid might dress up as a Splinter Cell and teepee your offices or something.

No! From a static stealth gameplay mechanic to a dynamic one. Smile

Or from blending in shadows to blending in crowds.

I can understand that they wanted to make a new stealth dynamic because the Metal Gear Solid series does much the same thing. However, MGS never took one option (completely away) in favor of another. At least, not as far as I can tell.

An upcoming novel by me.
Thanks Melonie for the sig!

god you dam nay sayers are pathatic SC:C is following the story from SCBig GrinA so learn to deal with it it's to late now ther not going to change the game mechanics to the old school ways although i sorta wish they did but frankly im glad ther takeing this approuch be vary intristing how the story plays out interactivly wise who knows if this works out and we see how the ending turns out hoefully sam does get get his spy suit back on (highly unlikely the way the story is going cross your fingers). just stop whining and if your going to try it then good if not then let it go and move on
