If the capability to fight and shoot makes it a brawling shooter, then I guess it has been a brawling, shooting franchise from the start. Fighting has been around since day one; it's just that they have improved on it immensely to allow better survivability.
It's just the marketing campaign. They haven't marketed the stealthier side because they thought we knew by now that there would be stealth in Splinter Cell. |

not even. in the other games, you are able to knock people out witha heel palm, fist, or knee them in the spine. Thats not fighting, thats a quick submission. in convictions you can punch, kick, grab, throw, choke slam, throw things, hit people with printers, destroy people with mp5s and more. and its not one hit knockouts like the other SC's. this is full on brawling. not wven close to the other games. Thats nacho cheese........ |

Being open minded is so overrated.
Stop giving them ideas! LoL ------- "Tonight's forecast...dark." |

Meh, I told them that a long time ago. That's a hint.

In the first and second games you had to hit them twice if they were alert to your presence. Obviously that means it's full-on brawling because it's not a one-punch KO. |

not even, if you went in for a hit they would shoot at you, no punch you back. whats in conviction is a full brawling mode to where sam and another character or more punch kick throw or choke slam eachother into glass, buildings and any other object. your telling em that this is similar to the other games? Thats nacho cheese........ |
No, not at all similar, but more realistic in fact.
The first games were unrealistic because Sam's first reaction to getting shot at from half an inch away should of course be to disarm, then disable by means of "brawling." |

he studies Krav Maga ffs, why wasn't there more grappling? Wrist locks, arm locks, thumb locks and so on and so on Engima leads where Dogma cannot |
Thumb and finger locks are as of now Adam Sandler territory.
In all other territories, it's acceptable. |
wtf? lol
Seriously though. There's a fair amount of grappling and bone breaking involved in Krav Maga. Let's see more of that Engima leads where Dogma cannot |
Explanation: Sandler grapples the finger of a random guy in one of the commercial previews for his newest movie about being a super agent who wants to be a hair stylist.
Thought I'd make a half attempt at being funny about it. I haven't paid much attention to it but I think as of the last-seen demo footage, he mostly will be doing basic grappling of the chest area, I haven't seen any more specific grappling than that. And bone breaking, I think, would force the title to include "gore" in the mature content list. Then again, you can break legs in Creed and I don't recall it listing gore. So I'm probably wrong. |

Gore is described more as gratuitous guts and blood flying. One of the moves in Shenmue was to dislocate a shoulder and that didn't even get a mature rating. Just having Sam pull at someones arm and hear a hollow snap sound would be graphic enough to get the point across without being over the top

And that's why I will never land a job at ERSB.
Not that I was planning to apply there anyway. |

Nee, me neither. Though I'd really love a job at Ubi *hint hint*
