How do you think the ending of Conviction should play out? Hopefully Director Williams will get killed, but how else do you think it should go?

Sam gets that retirement he's been talking about for the last seven years.
Good guy, but it's time for him to quit. Michael Ironside implies it himself, saying Sam should be worn out and tired. I'd get tired too, after all that stuff. Time for a new guy, young and energetic, and smart and funny. But not arrogant. Everyone hates that. |

I really wish Sam goes back to the NSA and as for Williams who knows maybe the guy isnt a bad person but a dumb director of operations who got caught in all that mess because someone else was playing both sides and framing Sam.

Noooo way! In my opinion that'd be lame having a new guy. At the end of SCV, I hope Sam just goes back to a non-corrupt NSA and SCVI is pretty much Chaos Theory 2 |

He's getting too old, as simple as that. He's tired of his job, he says so himself. He jokes about retiring all the time, from the first game to the last. Let the poor guy settle down and actually live the rest of his life for himself.
What would be so bad about a new guy? New adventures, new stories, a chance for deeper character development, and you'd be able to do split-jumps again. Do you really want to see the day when Sam can't do split-jumps, can't really jump for that matter, can't fall any further than half his own body length, can't climb pipes, or ladders even, and can't crouch because of back pain? I love Sam Fisher to death but that doesn't mean I want him to die. He needs to retire before anything worse happens in his life. Chaos Theory was the highlight of his career as a Splinter Cell, and that will never happen again because Double Agent and ConViction are about picking up the pieces and getting out alive with what's left. Introducing a new main protagonist would be starting over for Splinter Cell, definitely something it should go for. |

The funniest retirement joke was on Double Agent when Sam says "Lambert, it's time for me to retire" before jumping out of the Osprey.

Hardly. If the whole Splinter Cell brand is being dragged out of Splinter Cell territory for Conviction then Sam is obviously the hook of the games. Introducing a new character would be criminal. You pay to play the hero, not a sidekick ---------------- Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the Shadows...... It is O_o |

It ends with the Splinter Cell franchise being over for good.

![]() At least for Sam's story anyway. The series I think should keep going, back in light and shadow operations with a new guy. |

Oh noes Matthew Ferland has been kidnapped by evil terrorists with taste in game-development! You get the final choice as to who you should eliminate! Choose to save Matthew Ferland and kill the evil terrorists or go the other way round and stop people making ridiculous marketing decisions! The amount of people who choose each option could then be uploaded to a database so UBI can see how much they Ph4il. ______|TEH SIGZ|______________ |

maybe its time for retirement... but i dont think a new guy will keep the merchandinsing this thing has ever made...
it would be good to make new game maybe about when he was in seals or something else of his past. but no future stuff like this... i think they just ruined the series with the convicted thing... sam aint no escapee fellow--- gosh |

I agree. Fisher needs a Raiden, if only as an extra playable character.
I'm pretty sure UBI is slowly crippling him to make us want a replacement, maybe in SCVI we will get to play as Sam in a wheelchair? Now thats a lethal drop tech I'd like to see ______|TEH SIGZ|______________ |

I'd rather wheel from shadow to shadow than deal with crowds. Seriously. |

ah ah ah seriously... maybe... but you guys dont think they shouldnt end it that way... i mean... every love story ends hapilly, so why our hero should end up dead, or old, bald and fat? he deserves after all that Katia could come back from the dead world... or someones like her could just end with him! he deserves to be happy... retired or not... he has already suffered a lot... at least in his books... |

What about that Jackie Fiest character from the last Splinter Cell novel? (And yes, Jackie I only asked that because I know that you would certainly like that idea! On the other hand...there's still that lovely, funny and intelligent good looking islandish Analyst called Anna Grimsdottir or the wonderful - yet since SCPT never more mentioned Francis Cohen - I'd know who I'd choose if I would be Sam.
