Most likely not, going into a new direction for the gameplay and then ending it with the last game doesnt seem likely at all. Whatever you heard was just a rumor which isnt true.

Unless they are already working on the next SC I don't think any one knows for sure yet. It will prob hinge on how well conviction does and if the UBI suits think they can get more money from the series. I would not think so but if Conviction is **** then it may be the last SC.

Yea I was thinking the same thing, that would be kinda silly but I guess it all depends on how well Conviction does. Frown

It didn't seem likely that Ubi would change the gameplay of a multi award winning single and multiplayer, but here we are....

Exactly, maybe thats the reason why there is no publicity or anything out for it now too, maybe they're not that confident in it as they were CT. I think they realize its either going to be a hit or miss.

Or because it'll be so awesome, it'll take more time to finish it and therefore, more time to have enough done to show and publicize. Wink2

I can't see SC ending yet. There's way too much money to be made still, and, after all, that is all the suits at ubi care about.Indifferent

You seriously think they aren't showing any new SCC info because it is going to be awesome?

Rockstar games might limit the amount of info released about games, but it isn't Ubi's style. With most of their games you feel like you've already played it by the time they've released it, they hype it so much.

It's a joke! When you look at me like that, it's a joke.

Are you kidding me? Well, sure, perhaps the SC franchise will continue, but no way Sam just gonna walk back after what happend after DA, Essentials, and ConVictions (I'm surprised Sam will come back to 3E in the first part of ConViction at all)

If he will come back to 3E after ConViction, it would be very unrealistic, and would make look the things that happend in DA, E and C undramatic and lame, it would be a massive anti-climax.

They've gone to far this road allready.

‘’Conviction is so different, you wonder what makes UbiSoft think this should even be called a sequel to the critically acclaimed and groundbreaking series.’’ – IGN.com

‘’2008 could be a make or break year for the venerable Sam Fisher.’’ – Next-gen.biz

‘’The end of Splinter Cell?’’ and ‘’Only the name remembers us to the series of the olden times.’’ – Power Unlimited

Why does he have to work for 3E? Couldn't he go rogue after this and work for some other organisation who have adopted the Splinter Cell method...?

Maybe either an independent body with a lot of private funding, who are working to maintain world stability and keep all of the worlds nations' power hungry natures in check, or maybe just another country other than the US?

If they do that, they can have Sam realistically working as a Splinter Cell again, with all his kit, and not have to have him go back to the people who betrayed him and tried to destroy his life.

Or... Williams goes to jail or dies, it turns out he was manipulating the whole organisation. Sam forgives, everybody has a massive reunion with many tears and hugs.

Or the anti-climax ending... Williams retires, and they give him a rubbish leaving gift, and then Sam goes back to work for the NSA.:P
