What's happened to the Dev's Blog? I was enjoying reading it, though it wasn't about SCC in the main, and then suddenly... nothing.

There hasn't been a post since 9th Sept. I posted a comment asking Thomas what was up, but no response.

This is what happened with the Q&A session with the Brand Manager of Ubisoft, a little bit of activity, and then boom, he was gone and no replacement was found. I started off defending Ubisoft against this sort of complaint, but this is ridiculous. If you're going to attempt some sort of dialogue with fans, that's good, but to start one and then just abandon it with no explanation is worse than never starting it in the first place.

It feels like Thomas got bored writing in the blog and now can't be bothered.

Anyone communicating with ous gets fired... it's a conspiracy I'm sure... there's a lot of them going on lately...

There's a lot of silence indeed...

The guy posts one entry per month, so just wait till the end of the month or something. Plus, its nearly holiday season...people have things to do.

But yes he could just possibly have nothing to post about.

Up until recently he's been posting two per month, on average. Then only one for September, and now nothing for more than a month.

What do you mean nearly holiday season? It's only October!

Hi all,

Sorry about all this...

I have been extremely busy on the game, and am currently having some family issues to deal with. I'll try to post again asap, but can't promise when, some things need to be settled first...

Cheers !

Thanks for the reply, Thomas. Good to hear you're busy on the game, and sorry to hear about your family issues. Whatever those are, I wish you luck in resolving them, if that's at all possible.

Look forward to a new post whenever you get the chance.

Thanks for the last one about Fullyramblotic reviews. I'd never even heard of the guy before, but now I log on every Wednesday to see his latest review, knowing that I'll be laughing my ass off from start to finish!

That's pretty impressive. Not only has he read the forums and seen these posts, but he has taken the time to reply. Other Ubisoft staff could learn from this example.

It's a joke! When you look at me like that, it's a joke.

He did this multiple times. He even has his own thread here and other Ubisoft staff does that as well (i.e. Community Manager / Forum Manager).

You guys consider the fact that near deadlines that these people are working 60+ hrs a week?

And by deadlines, I mean the holiday season when most games are usually released. I know its near november, but games expected to be released have to be completely finished 2-3 months before they are even on the shelves.

2-3? no ****ing way.
usually games getting gold between 1 month to 1 week.
maybe i'm wrong and gold doesn't mean any thing about the status of the game, but usually "finished" means when the game is gold and good to play, am i wrong?
any way cod4 was gold last month or so, so that leave is around 2 month untill hitting the shelves so that's like u said but the orange box got gold around the last week hitting the shelevs.
so not so sure about what u said... at least not entirely...

depends on the game of course....especially when including localisation for several languages.

Europe gets the games much later then USA usually. Eastern europe even later.

Gold only means the game is done, doesnt mean its printed yet, or even if the box art is done.

You have to keep in mind that there are several pre-gold builds that have to be tested for problems and that if this game is to be released on PS3, they have to get a gold candidate to be "inspected" by Sony before it can be released.

If Sony has a problem with it, they can reject the build and have them fix the problems.

yeah i know, gold only state for game is done on the master disc.
but still before sending for printing they need to send the master copy first to sony and m$ for aproval and stuff like that.
but those stuff doesn't take 2-3 months.
anyway i'm not sure about the things i say i'm just assuming all those stuff, i'm talking on blind so i guess those kind of stuff dont take 3 month, and companies works pretty close to sony and m$ through the entire process from the beginning, so those stuff shouldn't take that much.
