With the upcoming game [Conviction] set in daylight in a civilian setting, I think several things should be done to alter the sixth game from the fifth. First of all, I think Sam should do something to redeem himself in the Third Echelon's eyes so as to become a Splinter Cell again. Perhaps he could save Director Williams (Or whoever is in charge of Third Echelon at the time) from near certain death or something and be allowed to wipe his slate clean and continue work as a fully-fledged Splinter Cell once more. Secondly, I think Sam should be able to choose his missions (Maybe be given two choices each time you do a new one) so he can have a variety of options and it would also add to the replay factor of the game. At the start of the game he should be able to choose if he wants to undertake undercover missions (Similar to DA) or regular missions (Similar to the rest of the games) making it appeal to both of the targeted demographic (I like the whole undercover thing but many people prefer straight up Splinter Cell regular mission action). Thirdly, I suggest being able to pick up enemies weapons and use them. Certain missions and places you don't start of with a a gun of any sort or as in the case of Conviction you only get a loud and obvious SMG as compared to the police officers pistols. If we could pick up a pistol in this instance (A silenced one would be even better) it would make getting detected a whole lot harder for the police, I mean after all we have to compensate for the lack of darkness right? Fourthly, I suggest integrating new gadgets and improved ones from the previous versions. For example, the Thermal Vision in Double Agent was atrocious and we need to revamp that into a more obvious heat sensor, in Double Agent it took me about halfway through the game to figure out what a person (Besides Sam and someone up close) looked like. I think the Thermal Vision should be as strong at identifying people as the LAX mission in Pandora Tomorrow (You know how the guards have had the shots?). If people were as easily recognizable as that then we would have no trouble using it. With new equipment however, I suggest implementing things that could make life a hell of a lot easier and better for Sam. For example adding a glass cutter to the full time mix. Apparently there is a part in DA where you can use one but how about having one as a full time gadget, it could open up the possibilities in the gameplay immensely. Imagine being on the edge of a building (Think Shanghai) and nearly being spotted and you need a quick way out, you simply equip the glass cutter and cut a hole in the window (Similar to using the knife to slice open a fence or the like) or maybe not even having to equip it, just select the option with the A button (Just like cutting through a fence with the knife).
If anyone has any suggestions, comments, criticism or just wants to randomly spam or flame me for doing nothing feel free to post here.

I think Conviction is a great idea but only for ONE GAME PLEASE, it'll all rest on this one game, after that leave it, Bourne's finished now at the pictures only the Conspiracy game will bring up the Bourne / Fisher argument now, SC 6 should have Sam back in the feild working with Lamberts son maybe in charge, either that or a prequal
and by prequal I mean put Sam in real world conflicts, swimming up a river with a knife between his teeth during Operation Just Cause, rescuing prisoners from an Iraqi death camp, Sam could find info about the WMDs and by the time the US responds theyve been moved
Can we just wait until Conviction is out please...we don't know what its about...and if you think you have any influence on what the next Splinter Cell will be about...think again.. Its market forces that drive the franchise...if it doesnt sell because we the buying public dont like it then they will change.....
I never said I could influence their decision on making the next game, I am just saying some ideas that could be taken into consideration (Most likely they don't look here but if on the off chance they do, well you know). Also they are probably already thinking of something roughly like this because of all the criticism the public seems to be giving them. I like the idea personally, although I'd prefer being in the dark and have his equipment back but the civilian theme and the being able to use anytihng as weapon sounds great.
Note: I know alot of the public approve of this idea [Conviction] so before you go flaming the above sentence, read this.

SCCT is was a very good game... DA meh not that impressed I mean it walks way to far from what SC is about! I still prefer the mission based game and allways will. I just hope Conviction wont ruin the franchise completely! Next time make a old school SC game I say
Yeah I like old SC too but I love where it is going also...I just wish that maybe he can get his goggles and pistol back and be able to have much more darkness to hide in (Not necessarily the whole level but more than what it has now).

what I want to see in the 6th game is a mix of everything. i dont know how the trust system will work but w/e.
what i want to see for a level is sam walking down a street trying to avoid being seen by cops (cuz the only people who know sam is not a criminal will be major intel agancies). he has to walk the streets to the place where he has to infiltraite. then when he gets into the building then the light shadow game starts. then when he leavs the building the social stealth starts again.
I don't think the 6th game should be a 'mix of everything'; if history of video gaming has taught us anything, it's that hybrids fail. Remember when Rainbow Six tried to mix 'tactical' and 'arcade' shooters? That unfortunate accident was called Lockdown. Remember when Splinter Cell tried to use the light/darkness stealth mechanic in Kinshasa/DA? While some liked the mission/game, it was hardly tactical, mostly just luck whether you got caught or not.
Games should specialise. I don't want to see a sports game where you can choose for your player to actually be an undercover government agent, I'd rather have two specialised games that do what they do well than a mix that tries to do everything in a mediocre way.

Block of words, aaaaaaaand a double post. I think I'll stay out of this one
It's a joke! When you look at me like that, it's a joke.
I actually sat down today and played Pandora Tomorrow (only game I havent played yet, I know shame on me) which in my opinion is even better then DA! This in my opinion again falls grim light on Conviction!
I'm not sure if splinter cell 6 is in the making yet, i'd actually prefer if shanghai kinda stepped this one out and let the big boys at montreal do their thing.
I don't mind so much what their doing with convictions, but i agree that they should just leave the experimental gameplay after this game.
I'm with you the JBA stuff and the Jailbreak were just boring compared to anything that allows you to shoot anything!!! So I dont know what I will make of Conviction, I'm just looking forward to having 5 splinter cell games I can play at any one time...6 if you include Essential....

Well I think I read somewhere that UBI montreal started developing splinter cell 5 right after chaos theory was done...so it makes sense that shanghai could be working on splinter cell 6 right now. but i agree, shanghai sucks, they need to let montreal handle the rest of the splinter cells from here on
If conviction is going to teach us anything it will probably be not to overestimate montreal. They've said in hundreds of interviews that this change was to show what they can really do. i.e Conviction is just their e-***** viagra.
If you have read in IGN the stuff they are doing is pretty amazing they are definatly working hard on taking out repetative motions you always see. Characters being able to change routine. Objects reacting in different ways. Not just the same old pre done moves over and over. I think these type of things are always good. There is definatly a lot going into this game.
I just hope Fisher gets to take AD Williams down in this game. I've wanted a piece of that swine ever since DA. Maybe he doesn't have to kill him, but getting him arrested for corruption or something would be good, then he can come back to Echelon with a clean slate.

He just may be the bad guy in SCC, you never know. He was the one in SC:Essentials that was the mad man. Im not surprised that 3E went corrupt, and Im sure its because of that guy.
