I just watched the new TGS extended walkthrough video, and thought it was awesome, but what's with the F-bomb being dropped every single time you encounter an enemy. I'm not any kind of stickler on foul language, but every time Sam came across a new enemy it's F- this and let's go F-kers. Can't ubisoft think of some more creative dialogue? I'm way stoked for the game, but I'd like to see a little revision done on the language when it's finally released.

Ubisoft yes Ubisoft Montreal/ the same guys that did R6V series no. |

This is kind of being talked about in the developer walkthrough thread.

yeah I normally don't mind the mild language but the saying the f-word is a bit much, take it out! lol

I dont mind it a few times, but the excessive use of it is annoying. |

I like the hard language in the new game, but screaming ** before storming a room is not good practice for what looks to be some extremely stupid AI in the first place.
Why not replace the f-bomb with something a little less agressive, like nancyboy! "Get out here you NANCYBOY!!!" ** has always been a compliment in my book anyways... This message has been edited. Last edited by: CoastalGirl, |

No offence, but yelling "NANCYBOY" just sounds. How about being quiet and trying to catch Sam by surprise? This message has been edited. Last edited by: Gypsy816, |

I know the discussion's on the language and all that, but don't bypass the word filters... A simple "S-word"/"F-word" will suffice.
------- "Tonight's forecast...dark." |

Yeah. I think the language should just stay tasteful, if not clean.
Example: "Tell me what I need to know!" "F- you!" Ok "Hey a-hole remember me?" Good "Sh-! where'd he go?" Good "Come on out ya prick!" questionable "Let's go F-ers!" No good |
|||
|
That's the point though..."Nancyboy" is so perplexing and unexpected that it would catch Sam off-guard, allowing the enemy to flank him while he ponders the meaning of it. Or they could go back to the old classics of "did you hear that?" and "Am I seeing things?". Or, how about some dialogue that actually makes sense, like calling for help and screaming out orders? Don't worry, with the inevitable delay likely upcoming, there's plenty of time to add in all of our great ideas! This message has been edited. Last edited by: Gypsy816, |

Don't need the explicit language to make it a really good game. I loved all the previous splinter cell games, but i noticed that with each release there is more profanity being used. leave it out, it's not necessary.

You are aware that Ubisoft Montreal is the same company that made original Splinter Cell, Chaos Theory and Double Agent on PS2/Xbox? |

I can just imagine people writing these lines.
"Hmm... so who's this Sam Fisher?" "How should I know? I've never played through the earlier games in the series because they are so boring and slow." "Well, we got a whole story to fill with lines... so what are we going to do?" "Some action cliché cool guy one-liners... and... lets fill the rest with profanity." "Yeah... sounds good... and the kids will like it... that's the target group they're aiming for with this title, right?" "That's what I am, and I'm hooked on it." "Profanity it is." |

Not quite. Your comment is a sweeping generalisation. Check your facts 'A word to the wise ain't necessary. It's the stupid ones that need the advice' - Bill Cosby |

Swearing in the game will have some degree of valid context and be valid for the character. In your example of the guy getting interrogated could you imagine him saying "No, go away!"? In such a situation I would probably swear too.
We don't just make the characters swear for the fun of it - there's always a valid reason. |

I couldn't imagine any person in a situation like that, that wouldn't curse. I mean; who wouldn't? It's kind of a mandatory thing. hahaha. There's never been a terrorist organization that doesn't fluidly drop the f-bomb once in a while.

I certainly couldn't imagine someone provoking a person who can break their neck and happen to have a grip on their throat by saying "**** you!". This isn't some street brawl between two thugs. Nor would can I imagine someone giving orders by yelling "Let's go ****ers!". --- I want a proper sequel to Chaos Theory that retains the same core gameplay mechanics and storytelling seen in the series pre-Double Agent while adding to the experience with innovative features. I do not want a rehash or clone of Chaos Theory. |

are you serious ? , so you would rather me sugar coat the truth , when some times the truth hurts and Truth be told, its people like this who made doubleagent multiplayer dumbed down because they felt it was to hard and so ubisoft catered or tried to "reach out" to a broader audiance but in still doing so screwd the hardcore veterns like myself and many others. 2ndly don't preach to me pal I know YOU are at least in ur late teens so don't go down that road. I am talking about those children that are like 8 playing a M rated game which ive heard happen before over their microphones and this is the exact case based upon reactions, WHY DO YOU THINK Ubi has an age verfication on thier site, so that little toddlers can whine about course language ? give me a break . |
