Well this is a little self contradictory. They say it's not the last one, but then there's a rumor that says Sam may not be it, which in affect would make Conviction the last one.
Hope that is just a rumor 'cause I was just starting to look forward to another SC game with Sam Fisher. That's like a James Bond movie having 003 as the protagonist. A.K.A crap, failure, stupid, wrong, rather disturbing and last but not least typical. Fingers crossed that it's just another annoying rumor. |

To be honest, I like the idea of following another agent(s). Don't get me wrong, I love Fisher, but it would be cool to see more of Shadownet or the other operatives (like Bob and Steve).

wow if sam fisher isnt in the next game its going to be a big mistake on ubisoft side.
and i wont continue to support splinter cell No Sam Fisher= death of a franchise. and to ubisoft you make some dumb decisions THIS ISNT SPLINTER CELL |

While a spin-off with new characters would be interesting (female agent, anyone?), Ubisoft should play it smart and keep Sam with his own franchise. Nobody really cares if he's "aging"...James Bond's been around 40-years and nobody questions the logic of his movies (he's fought cold war Russians, North Korean generals, African revolutionaries, and New Orleans gangsters for crying out loud).

Who wants to bet the new guy will be some punky 20-something with an attitude and drops f-bombs every other sentence? Sad to see a mature series degrade. Hope I'm wrong about the new games.

While I no longer give a damn about Sam's life story since it went soap opera Hollywood drama, for the health and continued sales of the franchise, I think Ubisoft should pay whatever Michael Ironside wants to get him back for the next game. Frankly, they should also give him some input/control over the story direction if Ironside's wants.
If Ubisoft wants to expand the series and focus on a new Splinter Cell then it's best done in a spin off game. No Sam would be like no Master Chief in the inevitable Halo 4. From a sales and marketing standpoint alone, that character is your brand. You find and excuse or plot device, I don't care how ridiculous, to keep him going. Finally, if there is a spin off series, you focus it on the Splinter Cell coop duo from Chaos Theory.
Like the Prince's new attitude in the last Prince of Persia game. The only good thing about that game was the art style. |

So, maybe our wish will come true? EDIT: What if Sam's daughter Sara takes over? Ubisoft has done it again... Left the PC gamers behind. |

Not anymore because she's dead. She needs to stay dead now (unfortunately). |

Sam could be new "Lambert" in SC6 and leads Bob and Steve in their classic stealth missions. Good for both sides. There will be classic stealth (and COOP
http://www.SamFisher.cz - Splinter Cell forever! Everything we do we do with the panther in mind, with the predator in mind. |

Yeah i imagine Sam turn to be the new "Lambert" and we'll play a new splinter cell guy which sam will train as his boss --- /\_/\ (^_^) \ __ / Jews Rulz |

Ding is the new Six in Rainbow and it sucks. They shouldn't have messed with success and certainly shouldn't shift the characters. Bad enough what they did in some books and DA.

I'm telling ya, UBISOFT needs to stop jumping so far into the future. "Endwar" took place in the year 2020!!!
Sooner or later they're gonna have to refresh every franchise to keep them from going into space. BTW, how dead is this forum? There's nobody here! HELLO!!??!!?? (echo, echo) |

I would absolutely love a new operative. Don't get me wrong, Fisher is awesome, but Sam is getting pretty old, and I don't want him to a Bond rip-off, Bond is stupid in my oppinion anyway. Not that he hasn't contributed to what spies are today, I mean, Bond was one of the first, but now it's time for him to move on, know what I mean? I don't want Fisher to be a spy by the time I have kids, because, by that time Fisher will probably be reaching age 70 or more, I am only sixteen lol, and calculating the time it is going to take me to get out of college and settled down, I will be 28 lol. So I've got a while unless I just decide I'm ready before then. And I'm 16 now, so, actually that will put Sam at about 65. Too old for an effective spy in my oppinion. And it would be interesting to see what could be done with another operative, don't you guys think? Well, I've text walled nough, I'm out.

I could imagine Sam being the new Lambert, BUT I really don't think he would do it. I think he someone who likes to save the "world" and will continue to do this. I don't think he is someone that wants to be the voice in the ear of another one. I hope we can play Fisher.

I think I've figured it out.
The protagonist in the next SC will be some dude that we're indroduced to in Conviction, he may help Sam or something. But this game will be for the PS3. Just look at Metal Gear, the 360 MGS has Raiden, not Snake, but there's another MGS in the works for PSP (I think) with Snake. So chances are Sam isn't going anywhere for 360/PC owners, but Playstation owners may have to say goodbye to dear old Sam... Just a theory. |

Conviction is already a Spin-off. . . |

Personally, I don't like the 'Son of Sam' idea or 'Daughter of Sam' idea as an excuse to bring a new character. Not even someone who seems too close to Fisher, or someone who he trained when he was CIA (if he ever canonically did that [I don't doubt it - says something about it in the 4th book (while he was NSA), and he didn’t spend that much time with those rookies]). My reason for this? Having family in these sorts of matters as replacements has been used and overused in games, movies, series... you pick. If the character is someone Sam actually trained, he or she (I'm not dispatching the possibility that it could be a ‘her’ [and it wouldn't bother me as long as she looks as a soldier rather than a model -_-]) would've developed his or her own tactics with time as a professional. So this new character would be different than Sam, fresh to the series. That or just bring a character that if for some reason knows Fisher, he or she only knows the veteran by files (intel given to him or her before or in between the story [think in the 'how' and 'why', lol]).
Either way, I don't think it is a bad idea to bring a new face to the game, but I would personally go for it just to give Sam some rest (a game tied to the Conviction storyline at the same time with its own storyline with new ways and different tactics and places while hunting Sam?... an after Conviction game in which Sam is retired just to have him back in SC7?), never to dismiss Fisher because it is impossible for us fans not to miss him and want him back. Maybe he can come back in the next game while being a cameo in SC6. Perhaps connecting his come-back with EndWar, heh. About Sam's age... Ubi froze him in time, LOL. Above it all, this is my sole personal opinion, and most of all, I hope this remains as a rumor for now. I prefer a Sam Fisher for SC6 even with the ideas presented.
I see what you did there O_o That could work. Although, I guess that means I would have to get a PS3 -_- Crap... LOL! However, I still think that a new character would work great for just one game, or perhaps for other consoles as you said. |

Logically Sam will be in the next game, as Ubisoft have decided to make him ageless ala James Bond.
I would be happy for Sam to die in Conviction though. |

Even Ubisoft have told us the Sam Fisher we know is dead, I have no attachment to his replacement.
