Ubisoft has revealed Splinter Cell: Conviction will not be the last game in the series.

Splinter Cell ConvictionAccording to an Ubisoft rep, the development team is not done with the franchise just yet and that another Splinter Cell game will follow Conviction although, intriguingly, it may not feature Sam Fisher.

Speaking to IncGamers the Ubisoft rep also confirmed that in Conviction Sam Fisher will have allies, so perhaps we'll see these characters continue into another game.

It's better to stop when you're on top, than to gradually vanish.

No Sam? That mean's no Ironside. For me, that'd be the end of Splinter Cell. Nuh uh

Maybe Sam could make a cameo? Not seeing Sam in SC will be... too weird... Maybe, having a Splinter Cell Conviction story from the perspective of another Splinter Cell? That would be a good way to introduce a new character while still having Sam around. Either way I would like to see Sam back in some other SC game. We can even go backwards in this franchise. There's a lot of stuff that can still be done. We should talk more about giving ideas for an SC6 now, get the ideas out before its done.

Thought this was a good topic to reply to, LOL.

Bob and Steve!!!! Maybe they're the allies in SCC, so when SC6 rolls around, they finally get to be full-fledged splinter cells.

Yeah, they should make it like for the start you still have Sam, who then dies and gets replaced by a rookie, but of course Sam has been secretly cloned and will appear in later games... I mean, that would be a true original plotline with opportunities for unexpected twists, and has never been done before Smile

It might as well be the end of the series, considering what they've done to basterdize Conviction to no end.

I'm sure that future Splinter Cell games will be just as bad and without Sam Fisher there is no Splinter Cell, not even by name.

Stealth is being Unseen, Unheard, and Unknown.
Conviction - The Jack Bauer, James Bond, Jason Bourne Addition
Splinter Cell this game IS NOT

It would be nice to have Sam in the other end of a Field Agent's Earpiece. like "Okay Jimmy listen to me, you need to infiltrate the training grounds and execute the target..." would be nice. Or they should make another Splinter Cell series, where you play as another Splinter Cell but keep on having Sam Fisher. I swear to god if they kill Fisher the Splinter Cell franchise is dead to me.

If they do, is anybody up for 5 minutes of silence on a certain date?

But they could make him vanish, by helping NSA in ConViction. After you help them they make you a deal to help you find the killer of you'r daughter ect. and Fisher say's something like "The agency, finally decided to let me go. My name is Sam Fisher and this... is my story." or something and he would re-appear in another Splinter Cell game as Sam fisher who comes to the rescue. like... they pick up the phone and it dials at the end of the game and it goes:

Fisher's voice: Hello?

**Fade to black and credits**

Reason why they might wanna take him out is because he is getting too old.

Ubisoft has done it again... Left the PC gamers behind.

What if we were to play as Sam's protoge?

A couple years after Conviction Sam has taken a role of instructor and handler in the new Fourth Echelon (or any other non corrupt evolution of 3E). This way, the Splinter Cell series has an excuse to return to it's roots, and we will always have Ironside's voice in our ear.

As long as they don't turn Sam into the main antagonist through a completely ridiculous and predictable plot twist I'm pushing for this idea.

It would have to be on the next generation of consoles as this has undoubtedly been a bad one for SC fans. A reboot of a classic system seller for the next Xbox sounds mighty fine to me.

*Edit* Ah man, Jamsedreng22 beat me to it.

Trained by Sam Fisher Big Grin and playing a guy, leading on Sam's tradition? In Sam's own agency?

Not Sam's own agency, that would be a stretch. Just a new secret (clean) government organization with Sam as a key handler and instructor. Think Tom Cruise's position at the start of Mission Impossible III. He trains the most promising students, and over the course of the game, you play Fisher's best trainee as he comes into his own as one of the first new Splinter Cells.

He trains the most promising students,

You can't train what Fisher knows or what he has. Experience

They already screwed up Rainbow Six by dropping Clark, Ding and the crew, now they're screwing up Spinter Cell? Really getting tired of how Ubi treats the Clancy games.
