Its not only us fans here wondering where is the info, or any type of update from the team of the game. The media is also wondering what happened to Ubi and why they are so quiet. Read what this guy has to say:

That's interesting, while I was reading this article I got to thinking. Metal Gear Solid has had the same element in all their games and they continue to dish out the same style gameplay. I think it would just be cooler if Ubisoft kept a majority of the stealth features. Make the amount of social stealth missions like the amount of JBA missions in SCBig GrinA. Maybe around 4 social stealth, then 7-8 traditional stealth missions.

U mean what happened to splinter cell. Yeah I know - it's ****ed up. Oh well.... too late for anything unless they've changed it, back in may 07, (which they probably didn't)

This is what UBI should do if they care about the outcome of this series....

MY guess. (HOPE) would be they are revizing the game.. Putting in some more of the 'old school' splinter cell type stealth.

They have never been this silent before for this long.. SOMETHING is up.. And It is probaly going to be good news for us

Agree

Very much so. Just wait. Patience is a good thing, afterall. I know it is frustrating how quiet everyone is but just be patient. Big Grin

I'd rather hear the game is delayed than rushed... I'd rather know that they are refining their ideas rather than turning Splinter Cell into the next shovelware series.

That said.. a screen shot or some info on multiplayer would be nice to wet everyone's appetites.

OMG this Ryan McCaffrey guy read my mind. What he said about the Splinter Cell is spot on.

Chaos Theory the best.

Double Agent forgettable. I hate you, Ubisoft Shanghai.

Oh god how I loved Chaos Theory. The knife. The humor. The soundtrack. The coop mode. I would pay double the retail price just for Chaos Theory's coop mode! Such good times.

Please tell me that Conviction is taking us back to the days of Chaos Theory! Who was the lead designer on Chaos Theory? Who came up with that coop mode? I want to follow that guy's career. I want to know what his next game is.

I think you're right. Wouldn't something have been seen/heard at GDC?

Q2 2008 is still the listed release date. We are approaching that fast. We would have heard something by now.

For them to be this quiet this long, something is up. I think they took a look at their daylight based, hide-in-plain-sight style of gameplay and are scrapping it or reworking major portions of the game.

No, Matheiu Ferland has been around since way before CT.

Creative Director on CT was Clint Hocking.

The man is a genius. Does this guy still work for Ubisoft?

Aha! Answered my own question. Taken from https://www.cmpevents.com/GD08/a.asp?option=G&V=3&id=227947

For over six years, Clint has been at Ubisoft, where he has worked as a level designer, game designer, scriptwriter and creative director on the original SPLINTER CELL, and on SPLINTER CELL: CHAOS THEORY. Currently he is the creative director on FAR CRY 2. Before games Clint worked in the web industry and experimented with independent filmmaking while earning an M.F.A in creative writing from the University of British Columbia.

prepare for a boring wait gentlemen
