I was convinced Conviction would be in our hands March-April.. all jaggy and jumpy, but no news, and perhaps a delay until end of this year, is probably the best SC news yet.
That's right no news is good news. I really think that the dev's words posted on this forum of hoping to 'blow everyone' away with the new style SC game might have a chance of accomplishing it's objective. Silicon Knights came out with Too Human ages ago with some demo footage at an E3, it looked terrible, it had "doomed game" written all over it. Looking at it now 2-3 years later the game is on my "must buy" list for its co-op multiplayer features alone. They also commented several times that they took all the feedback too heart and went dark until they had something really impressive to show. Anyone think it's possible the same scenario is presenting itself? Conviction shows up, some of the footage looks choppy, questionable, the "dynamic gameplay" looks perhaps- limited... some Ubi dev posts up a little letter here on the forums, and SCC information goes dark for months. I'm looking at it as they took the criticism to heart, and are not going to emerge until SCC is blowing people's minds off. For the record I disagree that SC has to treat its fanbase like a bunch of 2-dimensional children and do the same thing 100 times. Sam fisher hides in the dark, chokes a guard, and steals a file in.... SPLINTER CELL 28: Another Rather Convuluted Political Ploy Defused And No One Hears About It!!! BUt I do think if they are going to change the game, it has to actually be BETTER than the L&S system of old. |

To answer the question in the subject line:
I see a ray of light, even multiple rays of light. I see daylight, dawn and yes, I even see the light of a full moon at midnight with Sam sneaking but also running through it. Sigs & Avatars | Terms of Use | My Blog | Patches & more | Vth_F | W[N]M | NORG Xbox Live Gamer Tag: Vth F Smith |

I'm not going to buy Conviction. I'll look for gameplay vids on youtube, and if it looks good (which I doubt---I'm an old-school fan), I might rent it. But even that's a stretch.

My views on SCC are the same as the night I prefer Sam to be in: total darkness. Muhaha.

To me, there is no light... By takeing the SC gameplay out of the dark and into the light, it puts the closeing of the series, people's thoughts, and the feeeling of gameplay in darkness... There is no light into the direction the the SC series is going, darkness shrouds the whole thing in disappointment, and will cause the rest of the games to be looked down upon...
