Notice at the bottom it says that it just got back pushed even deeper into the year,maybe its because they realize the horrible mistake they are making by ****ing up the game with their lame idea of changing the mulitplayer...Look what they did with DA multiplayer,and if you say you liked DA multiplayer you are obviously a scrub who sucked at CT...

Just look at what they say about DA's garbage multiplayer...

If they are reworking some of the core gameplay aspects then that means they're messing around with the core guts of the game engine and you can kiss a 2008 release date goodbye. Splinter Cell is one of the big video game franchises. To maximize sales studios release their big guns in the September to November timeframe because that's when most people buy new games.

If SC:C misses 2008 then you won't see it until Fall 2009. If a delay becomes official, and in some conference call or press release Ubisoft says the new release date is Spring 2009, don't believe them. You won't see it until Fall especially now that Conviction is supposedly a 360 exclusive. Microsoft will pressure Ubisoft to save a big franchise like Splinter Cell for the holiday buying season and Ubisoft's marketing department will agree with them.

In answer to the OP there is no official release date at this time. I am sure more information will be available on this in time though

i heard it came out fall 2007

My guess is that the game was finished in 07 but they didnt release it because of the negative feedback it recieved and it is being remade and will release sometime this year or at the beginning of 2009.

game stop & Eb games which is the same thing, says October 2, 2008.don't no if this is for real because ubisoft hasn't said anything.but gamestop most of the time is correct,because they set up pre-orders etc.then again i don't know.i hope this is when it comes out,rather than 2009

I wouldnt trust retailers most of the time they tell the public its coming out sometime and it never does.
