Ok,I'm excited about a new Splinter Cell coming out. But it seems like UBI is pushing out everything to XBOX360 and not the original XBOX platform. Are we being pushed out the door? Or are they going to have it for both platforms?

|
|
No. ConViction will only be available for the 360 as far as consoles are concerned.

You guys on the original xbox have been treated well enough, especially with how well done SCDA was done for your platform. Now, its for the X360 players to get something.

Exactly MKCC14... after Xbox and PSP got their exclusives, it's time for 360/PC gamers to have a share at the big table...
Oh, and remember... I do make stuff up Windows Vista® Home Premium, Intel® Core™2 Quad processor Q6600, 3GB DDR II RAM (2x 1GB,2x 512MB), 1TB (2x 500GB), DVD-RW Multi Double Layer, NVIDIA® GeForce® 8600GT 256MB/1024MB DDR3 TGM DVI/VGA/HDTV + 128 MB AGEIA PhysX processor PCI, 18-in-1 card reader, FireWire, Lan 10/100/1000 |

I'm surprised people are so supportive of the next-gen only. You are supporting, and therefore encouraging, a marketing ploy which forces people to buy a new console to enjoy new games. Sure, new consoles and technology is great, but why should people be forced to buy it?
It's a joke! When you look at me like that, it's a joke. |
||||
|
They're not forced to buy it. You don't have to buy a TV with buttons instead of dials, you don't have to buy washing machine instead of a washboard and tub, but when technology advances, we tend to want to push the advance so we can go even further forward. Imagine if they had gotten to Sega Genesis and said, "Yeah, this is good enough. Let's just stop here."

Exactly, that some devs made games for the X-Box once the 360 was out was impressive enough.
As an X-Box owner, I know my console is outdated, and I accept that there probably won't be many (if any) more releases for it. There are tons of good games for X-Box I haven't played yet, though. If you were a PC owner, you wouldn't have a right to get annoyed if developers weren't making games that met your specs anymore. They tend to make games for the top end spec machines, because that's the best technology available. |

It's definitely a worthwhile purchase. I wouldn't recommend buying used unless you absolutely have to and can get one from a trustworth source. Sig by Ukyo |

What a pointless debate! Its called technological advancement.
this would be like me complaining that conviction will not be released on the SNES. Shut up, new consoles = new games, old console = old games. The last-gen has been catered to long enough now its time to slices its ugly head off. |

Ha sorry but your opening line makes me giggle. I see your point but I also see how this can be difficult for those not having the funds to get a new console etc. Sig by Ukyo |

they stopped making games for Xbox right around when DA was released. So this isn't a suprise
Thats nacho cheese........ |

Not happy at the fact that Conviction is not coming to the PS3 where it belongs at??? Don't make a game series for one system (playstation)then decide to put part of it out on another system (360) only. That really sucks on ubisoft's part if its true???

Belongs? The first Splinter Cell was actually originally Xbox exclusive before making it to PC & the PS2 & Gamecube. Not sure why it 'belongs' on Sony's consoles.

I can't see how Splinter Cell would belong to Sony and PS.
If you would be in Finland and it's pretty few side media you would see SC has always been Xbox, and PC product. From advertisements to reviews to availability. I have only heard of Original Splinter Cell being on Sony and Nintendo, and even they got worse reviews and less publicity. Never heard or saw Pandora Tomorrow came for PS. And this is a Playstationland |

Heh, lets not forget the fact that SC1 helped introduced the horrors of modding to us all!

Ya I'm confused. Why do people keep on thinking it started as a PS game?
Xbox was what started it all. |
