Splinter Cell Conviction is a very important game for us. We want to ensure it's a game that long-term fans and gamers new to the series equally enjoy when they play it. Previous Splinter Cell games have set the bar very high when it comes to quality and enjoyment, we are firmly focused on continuing this with Conviction.

After demonstrating the new vision for the game at E3 2009 we won many awards and received a lot of interest from fans and press alike. In order to live up to our own ambitions and your expectations, we strongly feel that giving our teams that extra time will allow us to present a game to you that will fulfill that potential. Due to this, we have decided to move the release date into Q1 2010. This extra time will ensure Splinter Cell Conviction becomes every bit the fantastic experience we want it to be.

Keep posting your thoughts and constructive feedback on the game here, we will absolutely continue to read them.

More time ensures greater games, I'm happy with this later release date. The better SCC is, the happier I'll be; and I surely hope the rest of the community is. Wink

I think this is a smart move, Razz. Thumbs Up

I can't deny that ConViction looks great and has a lot of potential, but I think it certainly does need a good spit and polish to make it feel that extra bit like Splinter Cell.

Hey, now you've got no excuse not to add whistling and carrying bodies. Razz

Also, the option to knock people out would be super nice, super sexy. Googly

LaurenISM, he said 'read', not that they'd actually do something with it. Looks like someone (Razz) has been awake during media-training Razz

About the knocking out... go read up on krav maga Wink

Wait, what? Last I recall, they said killing was the only way. Was that changed, or just a misunderstanding?

Just a misunderstanding because in those E3 demos on youtube, they do say you can either kill or knock people out. Krav Maga can do both.

Lovely. No offense, but this doesn't exactly provide a reason as to the delay. Saying that you are delaying because the additional time will help you develop a better game is a bit redundant. Why not wait another 3 years? I am sure the game will just be super if any of the fans are still around.

Can you provide specific details? What exactly still needs work? Why couldn't it have been completed in the last 3 years?

Uh-Hum. I took it for a while. I'm a n00b still though, LOL. But yes, first is self defense without the need for killing, then is injuring the hell of a lot of your attacker, and then... well... use a bit of creativity and you can kill him/her with the same move you learn in basics of self defense.

@ Shadow Wolf: Oh. *ahem*

Whistling and carrying bodies would be super nice, super sexy. And probably even super cool, too.

Yeah, man. Splinter Cell: Double Agent was so full of quality and enjoyment. All the bugs'n'glitches, bad gameplay and horrible support really makes me hope that Ubisoft will continue to set the bar as high as they did with their last Splinter Cell game.

Veryhappy Oh, man you crack me up, Lauren.

I wouldn't mind having the whistling back, or the whispering to get someone's attention...that was funny in DA. "Hey...hey you. over here." or "Psst...hey..."

Maybe they will add this feature, and the carrying bodies and hiding them could be optional too, depending on the player.

I still like the new features, they are awesome.

I like it, that they are taking time for the game. It gives more time and hopes that other features could be added. Well, Lauren said all features I want to have. Big Grin So thank you.
Ohh and now we can knock out people. The game can only get better. Smile

@Razz:
I have a question. Could you do a video where the team is discussing about the feedback we have given? Of course make a peep noise if they are calling names. I would love such a video. In Love Or would it cause problems?

I think they get it, that the gameplay is a bit to fast. Wink

Since you're delaying it, add these things.

1. Hiding bodies (Dragging? Carrying?)
2. Split Jump
3. Being able to jump when you want
4. Split Screen Coop
5. GOOD MULTIPLAYER
6. Make it a stealth game with action elements not and action game with stealth elements!
7. The sound of Sams pistol is atrocious
8. Whistling
9. Throwing objects
10. Knife?

lets hope this game isn't still watered down after this delay. Nuh uh
