That was an awful trailer to be honest. Not because I need gameplay footage or whatever, I dig the Da Vinci drawings and look of the trailer, but the horrible music and lame voice over ruined it for me, and wasn't very 'envelope pushing' as most of the trailers were for AC1. C'mon Ubi! Where's the mystery!? Where's the innovation!? Why are you letting the folks over at PBS produce your trailers for you...? What happened to trailers like this?

Oh btw Ubi, thanks for getting rid of Jade Raymond, despite being insanely hot she was incredibly annoying and kinda made it look like you were trying to sell your game with a booth babe in a way.

I loved that trailer, and pheonix i used to post here prior to assassins creed 1 coming out lol, nice to be back.

but just to clear up, jade raymond was just a pr person right? - she wasnt actually a designer of the game?

if shes just a pr person i dont mind her leaving, but if shes a designer, i wonder what impact on the game her absence will have

@ spaceopera: It's solely a teaser, not a trailer. What were you expecting?

And as for Jade Raymond, I wonder what happened to her, too. She might be working on I Am Alive, but I'm not sure.

Producer's don't usually get as much screen time as Jade Raymond did for AC1. They may sit in for an interview with IGN or something, and do a few press junkets, but UBI decided to make her the poster-girl for the game because she was decent looking. She was literally everywhere. The role of a producer is a fairly unclear one, it can range from high-intensity involvement to minor phone calls and game promotion. Her wikipedia outlines a very small amount of projects she's worked on, starting out as a programmer for Sony, one would question how someone goes from being a mere programmer (a job which literally dozens of people fill the shoes of on any particular game) to being a hot shot producer for Ubi's biggest title of 2007. Hmmm. I smell shenanigans.

I think this is why Ubi decided not to bring her on for this project, there were some complaints that they were stooping to "TnA" marketing strategies, using Raymond's looks and "geek credibility" (being a hot chick programmer for video games is not something you see very often honestly) to hype their game. I like the route they seem to be taking now, although who knows if Raymond will make a surprise appearance at gameplay showings and such in the future. While a lot of people didn't like her presence... a lot of people fell in love with her which is exactly what Ubi wanted I bet.

no she was the GAME PRODUCER

that means MONEY, PROMOTION and INTERVIEWS
not the game itself
(anyway, I'm really sorry she left, she was very smart and charismatic to me)

Eek "A meer programmer" - please tell me you dont think programmers grow on tree's - theyre usually very intelligent and contribute a lot to even the design of the game, if she was a programmer for assassins creed that gives her a lot more credibility! If she was a programmer and left i would be pretty upset.

but it seems like she didnt work on the design of the game just the promotion, so seeing her leave isnt so bad, i mean its not like were going to actually miss anything in terms of what the game contains

Also some pics are from the interview, note how the picture where he is flying/gliding is at night time. A new element perhaps:day night cycles.

your first screen shot seems to be from the begining of the trailer, in the top right its the grabbing hand seen from before and the second logo image is the abstergo logo in animation.
(please correct me if im wrong)

by the way that last image the flying machine one. uhhhh im not sure if i like it or not it doesn't seem very assassin like, you know not being seen living in the shadows, i mean where would you land it and wern't the wright brothers first to fly?

We already knew there are day/night cycles.

And he can't fly, he glides. Why don't you read FYTJ's blog to find out more?

no the wright brothers were the first ones to make a self-propelled aronauticle vehicle, the vehicle in the picture is just a glider, which was first introduced by Leonardo de Vinciand i believe the glider is only used in one mission thruoghout the entire game so it won't be used regularly, only in the xtreme situation

No no, a game wouldn't exist without the programmers, but that's not what I was implying. What I was saying is that I found it fishy that she started out as just a programmer, then literally two projects later she is a "producer" for Ubi's flagship 07 title and plastered on every hard core gamer's desktop wallpaper. The corporate ladder isn't usually scaled in such a speedy way. That is why I smell shenanigans.

@ROBJ808: Part of the Creed says that you assassinate your targets in front of everybody, making them an example for the public to see. Sometimes showmanship and theatrics work best for assassination techniques, "hiding in plain site" as it were, making it seem that the assassins are in fact untouchable and can do as they please. Assassinating someone in plain sight shows tons more talent and bravery, rather than pulling a cheap shot assassination by killing a target in a back alley while no one is looking. This is why the assassin's don't use poisons, they want to make each assassination personal and theatrical. How much more theatrical can one get than flying in on a flying machine to assassinate your target in front of everybody? Proves the assassin's are unstoppable. You must have missed all of these points presented in the first AC, as did a lot of the players sadly.

2-Draw not attention to ones self whenever possible
3-Never compromise the Brotherhood

It wasn't part of the creed, it was just what they did; the kind of assassins they are... the other being the "paid to kill someone quietly" type. >_>

The picture? That's Soul Reaver '2', NOT the first one. Legacy of Kain pt. 3

i also have to say i slightly disagree with you SPACEOPERA i think an assassination should be done so you don't draw attention to yourself but do it leting people know that it was you

(very confusing i know but this old trailer from assassins creed 1 will help explain)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cN9aaELXCXk
