Making sigs can be very simple or very difficult depending on what style you want to use. There are literally hundreds of styles you can use so i suggest finding a good forum for graphics (i think planetrenders has one?) where people post and rate each others works. On those sites you can usually find good tutorials for using photoshop to work with different styles. I use photoshop but u can use paintshop or w/e there is. Ive even seen people make decent sigs by just using Windows Paint
so yeah, just find some tutorials for w/e program u are working with
