I Wonder if someone could tell me that once you have killed the Grand Master and you go back to the lab and your left on your own is that the end of game?
Altaire has a bow in the video footage is there one in the game to find thanks. |

Yes, that's the end of the game, but if you stay through the credits, you wake up and can free-roam after getting back in the animus, which beats starting over.
He has a crossbow in the video, but after hitting the second guy with it, he tosses it away. They were going to put it in the game but later on went with the throwing knives. They said that you could throw five knives in the same amount of time that it takes Altair to shoot one arrow and reload a new bolt into the bow. I'd say that's ambitious. During that time period it took almost a full minute to load a crossbow for your second shot. They were very much a throwaway weapon. As for the ending, make sure to go into the bedroom and use the Eagle vision. That's how the game actually ends. Just in case you haven't already

Oh no they were not throw-away weapons.
That's like throwing away your iPod after you get done listening to all the songs you have on it. Maybe for an assassin on the run it's convenient to toss it rather than hassle with reloading, but the heck they were disposable. actualy bob is correct in battle a cross bow while having higher accuracy and force than a bowman had that long a reload time that the people would fire a shot hoping to take some1 down then drop the cross bow and go for the sword and leave any shooting to the bowmen who could fire multiple arrows in the time it took to fire 1 bolt. that is why in films you rarly see them use a cross bow hell the slow reload problem even got played on in buffy.

sometimes it takes 30secs to a minute to reload a crossbow -- during that time an assassin could end up being very dead.

A sentry in a tower is not going to do very much good dropping his crossbow and picking up a sword. That's what I meant.
It's a ranged weapon basically, and it's indispensable if you're stuck in a tower somewhere. On the other hand, if you have a crossbow and you're on the ground, toss it, whatever, but it's a waste of a perfectly good weapon. It's like carrying a sniper rifle into a firefight. The weapon can't help it if you're using it in the wrong situations. then why carry the wrong weapon in the first place?
and a bow in a tower would make more sense -- the English bowmen of the 14th century could shoot 6 arrows for every crossbow bolt. 6 men taken out instead of 1 in same time frame. |

My point exactly. Altair doesn't need a crossbow. I think I'm one of the few people who actually thinks it would've been a bad weapon. It just doesn't shout "super-cool assassin" if you ask me. But a bow, on the other hand, would've been amazing. If only the assassins didn't hate ranged weapons. yes, they seemed to prefer a more PERSONAL approach. an arrow could be blown off course by a wind. a knife in your hand though...
|

|
How about a long bow then, as an earned weapon with skill and arrow increments spread over several levels?
Maybe not historically accurate for the assassin cult the game's based on, but fun. |

Assassins always have the wind in their favor, foo.
This isn't the Leftenant Price assassination attempt at 1,000 meters, this is Altair on a roof thirty yards away. XD Imagine, sneaking to the top of a roof under the cover of night, killing the archer post, getting into his uniform, and waiting for the public hangings of the next afternoon. Wait for your target, fire the arrow, and then quietly slip away. I know they preferred close kills, but man would it be cool for once to be able to assassinate stealthily without a city alert and just walk away from it without anyone else knowing, whether by bow or blade. walk away whistling without a care in the world.
it would be fun also to sneak into a building and find the room where the target is. and make a mess there. |

Well you do do that with William, and Talal, and with the fat rich guy.
They are buildings, just not the kind you meant. "ConViction is so different, you wonder what makes Ubisoft think this should even be called a sequel to the critically acclaimed and groundbreaking series." – IGN.com |
