I have an annoying sound skipping problem. It did not happen to me after installing and playing the game a bit. I got up to the first city and it ran fine.

Then I got messaged and alt tabbed out of game and it would not go back. Tried to restart the game and my sound skips. All of them. Voices, music, sound effects, everything skips like a broken CD.

I shut down, tried to restart, still skips.

I tried lowering hardware accelleration and turning graphics down to minimum, still skips.

I even have this problem at the very beginning scene with the girl and the scientist talking to you, so I highly doubt its graphics related.

I dont know what is causing this but it kills all immersion when the music and sounds skip, and I cant even understand the characters in conversation.

I seem to have the same exact sound problem with the Bink video codec, but the sound problem happens in Assassin's Creed at all times... in cutscenes the conversations skip, the music skips, everything.

Could it be the audio codec causing these problems? I updated my sound card driver to most recent, I'm not sure what else I could do...

There have been quite a few threads dealing with sound problems in the AC Community Technical Help Forum.
Please look through those threads and if neither of them contains the same problem that you're having, then repost it in that forum.
