On further inspection, I didn't lose them, the new patch just doesn't load them at all ... (although that does kinda add up to the same thing)

Umm yeah nice patch, not sure what it fixed? But as per my own thread on backgrounds apps possibly crashing AC, ALT TAB would be a REALLY nice feature if it worked, cos it doesn't and IF I'm correct in my assumptions on AC being that fragile that any outside influence can cause an instability..ALT TAB is a must do, so we do not have to endlessly "Soft Boot" our systems.
I vote for ALT Tabbing as a matter of urgency!! RM45

About the lost save games: After the patch naming of savegame file is different! Before the patch, the save game file was named same as ur profile, but after the patch its some combination of numbers! All u have to do is rename old save game files to the new name(the numbers) and backup (just in case) the "after-patch" save game files! It worked for me! Good luck

I have downloaded the patch and restarted my computer, and the game crashed after about 3 minutes. My computer meets the minimum requirements, and most of the recommended ones.
What should I do now?
PLEASE HELP

I need some confirmation but my current line of thinking is that my problem was brought on by my being too hasty waiting for my pre-order and installing a downloaded copy to play in the meantime. Can anyone confirm me right or wrong that has the original game?

I'll be giving the 175.16 beta drivers a try on my SLI'ed 8800GT SC EVGA video cards and let you know how it goes. Granted, it does run very smoothly so far, and it RARELY crashes, but I'll still be able to tell right away if these drivers are better or worse. Will report back in a few hours.

I suppose that that would be a viable alternative, but not necessarily a "better" place, as you're seemingly implying. If there are bugs with the 1.02 patch, this is just as good a place to draw attention to them, in my opinion.

Well, since this patch was designed to address some specific issues that are pertinent to my system specs (x64 support being the big one) and the version I'm running (DX10), I figured I would post any further crashes I experience in the patch forum. I know that all those who overclock their systems (as I have done, with the CPU anyway, and with the timings on my RAM) are automatically suspect in how stable they have been able to make their system. I have recently replaced my motherboard, so I am taking my system stability into account, and have been doing numerous tests to ensure stability under stress. Any other factors that I can throw into the mix to give feedback on, relating to this latest version of Assassin's Creed, will hopefully help with any upcoming patches.
