So I finally got to working on my costume today... With Halloween in 7 days I'm really cutting it short... But I'd Like to think I made some real progress today and got alot done and I'm heading in the right direction.
The following image is of me as my own Assassin from the 15th century. Note I still have alot of work to do which will be a pain considering the fact that I have only a week until I need to be finished... Though I believe if I can I'll be able to get it done in 3 days time. Here's the picture of the prototype. Note I still have to work on the hood as well as get the front feather like flaps done as well as find a red sash. I also have to work on a vambrace or bracer to cover up the strings of my hidden blade. Tell me what you think as well as if you want more images. Thank you. -Drakonous |

Well, damn, I haven't even cut out my halloween costume....
much less began working on my Ezio one There is no such thing as Good or Evil, only Human thinking makes it so--William Shakespeare "Our minds do not limit us, we limit our minds." Elected Assassin of the Forum I am a Renaissance Fanatic, ask me something about the era and I will answer to the best of my ability |

Yeah looking at attaching the hood on might be a nightmare x.x The hood fabric I have is to big and if I cut it down I might cut to much... Bleh I'll just end up winging it like I did with everything else xD
EDIT: Yay now to start on more of my costume This message has been edited. Last edited by: Drakonous505, |

hee, its usuallhy a combination of fudging it, winging it, and BSing it, and hopefully in the end you don't fubar it completely, it turns out nice, and you get to feign like you knew what you were doing to begin with XD |

Hey guys, just saw this forum and thought I'd add in my lame attempt at a costume. It's obviously not finished, so I'll try to post a pic of the finished version when it's done.

Thanks! I just finished up a few more additions, but I still need to sew the Hood on (and get it sewn into a proper shape). Other than that it's just the addition of the lowest layer of the costume and maybe a new glove. And then *maybe* I'll make something for my boots so they look more like Ezio's.
So far: http://img197.imageshack.us/i/ezio2t.jpg/ http://img194.imageshack.us/i/ezio1.jpg/ http://img5.imageshack.us/i/eziosmirk.jpg/ |

Drakonous outfit looks good but for some reason the hilt on that sword just doesn't seem to fit to me.

I really life the original assassin outfit that you did darkonous! The hood looks great!
I'll agree with the sword hilt comment though, if you lop off the point from the guard, and just make the pommel square, it'll look a whole lot better in my opinion xyzknyte, though i'm finding the belt insignia a bit, squicky? the rest looks fantastic! Especially loving the collar and hood <3 If you print out an image of the belt insignia to scale with your body, you can use it as a base for the belt! I did a cleaneed lineart of it, if you want me to send it to you, send me a pm As for personal progress, There hasnt' been a lot recently, been working on prop commissions and stuff over the last month, and for the last couple weeks I've been laid up with a nasty case of bronchitis, and been a zombie. Yesterday was the first half decent day, and since I still can't go back to the workshop with all the dust ad stuff flying around, I'll be working on the AC project til i get better got the patterns for the belt leather laid out yesterday, ad aim to tackle that this weekend, as well as the fabrics for the tunic, undershirt, and lacy fluffstuff, heres to hoping i don't mess up, will need to do preliminary testing of patterns using bedsheets pics'll come soon |

First of all, this is genius, i never thought about making one of these kinds of costumes. Anyway, if you have watched the new show that came out for assassin's creed, it's called Assassins Creed Lineage (look it up on Youtube), he wears tights for his pants. His shirt/skirt piece hangs really low, and because you like the renaissance, you would know that they wore tights a lot too.

Thanks, as for the sword it's a Spartan Sword I got from FYE
I really want to craft my own sword similar in design to other swords in AC2. I've actually made modifications to my costume so far and I'm still working on it. I should have more pics up tomarrow, if I can find bateries for my camera. |

You can buy Altair's sword (double edged, eagle handguard & pommel) online, as well as the short blade, hidden blade, throwing knives, boots and various other items. They're a bit pricey though.
We are all books containing thousands of pages, and within each lies an irreparable truth. La shai wak'ion motlaq bal kollon momken. |

That is why I stick to the fundimentals of fan made props Xanatos... Duct tape, cardboard, plastic and wood

Dark, just cusz you bought it somewheres don't mean you cant' modify it.. jsut sayin' that improving on the hilt would really go a long way to pull the costume together more, it kinda don't really match up much
Man, on finally seeing the official licensed AC swords, I was hella disappointed.. actualy I had seen them before, and the handles were so crappily painted (some crappy off white w/ rushed noOb quality rushed drybrushing), that til I realised that they WERE the official ones, I thought they were garbage knockofs. I never wanted steel to begin with, so I just made mine from wood, (which are convention leagal)
In lineage, the character in there was Ezio's Father, Giovanni... thankfully I (or my man's scrawny legs) won't be stuck in them since Ezio's not romping around in tights XD I'm getting visuals of Robin hood: men in tights right now, thanks ;p |

SInce I have a nasty case of bronchitis, and can't be around airborne particles and stuff til it passes, I can't work on my prop commish stuff... which seriously sucks really..
SO I've been working on my AC2 cosplay gear.. its moving along slowly, as i'm no seamstress, an d I'm taking on the sewing partssince i gotta do em sometime. The tunic really isn't easy when you barely know what hell you're doing, but i think i have something resembling his tunic going. Here's the back. The lace is a real pain, because it would've been too expensive to buy as a premade roll, so i got a yard of veil looking lace and have been cutting the strips. they take a good while to cut, since i'm following the design on it somewhat. If i'm really lucky i might be able to get most of the tunic done today (collar and, shoulderthings & hood'll come later) Here's the belt mockup (i had stripped the paint from the insignia, and just poured it for a mold.), I mounted the buckles onto a piece of Cintra that was bent with a heat gun, so the insignia won't be taking any of the strain. it'll be hidden underneath the sash, with the buckles poking though, and the cardboard'll be replaced by real leather that I'll cut, tool & dye May post again later if i make noticable progress |
