it is true as even tho multi core CPU's have lower clock speeds they prety much combine the speed meaning a 2.0ghz dual core is actualy the equiverlant of a 4.0ghz CPU and also has double the bandwidth.
so technicaly your CPU cant play the game as this game is dual core only. but if you have a very high end graphics card it may allow the game to run. (for example geforce 7900 or 8800 and not the lower modles of the card generations as even the 8600 is slower than the 7900 and would cause problems with a single core.)
but if you do have a high end graphics card and atleast 2gig of ram the game MAY run but technicaly your CPU isnt supported.
as I said it may play but you have a unsupported CPU so it cant be garenteed but other users with high end graphics cards and a decent amount of ram have managed to get the game to run on a single core CPU.
I have a 2005-vintage Dell XPS system with single-core 3.4Ghz P4 processor, 3.0GB memory, and a new nVidia 8800GTX 768MB graphics card which is designed to run full blast at 850 watts of power...my power unit produces only 350 or so watts, and the graphics card automatically adjusts to lower power...so I'm going to need to change out both power source and motherboard to get full performance from the graphics card.
Anyway, the system failed the game installation test but AC runs very smoothly at mid-to-lower settings, and will run at high settings, but slowly/jerkily. All in all, satisfactory. My enjoyment of the game was not diminished by lack of ultra-high setting capability.
I have to look ahead and lower visuals settings before a potentially extended knockdown-dragout fight, the executioner assassination and Robert de Sable fight being good examples.
Five or six quickly-repeated reloads will bust the memory and cause a lockup.
