Just got a PS3 and Assassin's Creed (i'm not that good at all i can't counter attack against guards very well. I just wanted some info on if AC is a good first game because i think it is..... its partially challenging, very easy controls, and fun moves. SO just post your thoughts and maybe even some advice on countering!!! Wink2

I was never much of a gamer. My friend bought AC and I started playing. She laughed at me when I told her that I couldn't remember what controls did what, saying that it was one of the easiest control systems she's known. She has a PS3, I'm used to Super Nintendo (fewer buttons, only 1 stick, etc). But it didn't take too long before I was slaughtering guards left and right. Only now am I getting the Hidden Blade Counter move down pat.

My only advice on countering is to wait. Stand in a defensive mode (standing in High Profile), waiting until a guard attacks, and when you see him start moving toward you, that's when you hit the attack button. Basically, watch his legs.

Good luck!!

That's a funny little story drego... a girl getting a guy ( I state "guy", but I'm assuming. Shady ) into gaming.
It's usually the other way around, if you know what I mean. >_>

Anyway, congratulations on the purchase of the system, and the game along with it, it's a good choice if you're a casual gamer, or a new "next-gen" gamer.
It'll really stand out in your eyes, especially because of the huge advancement in technology.

As for countering... just watch the enemy's movements. Avoid watching their whole bodies, and focus on the sword-arm and feet.
Don't press that counter button too early... because then it's just darn annoying watching them hit you right at the end of your "attack-catch", in which you have the ability to counter them.

Okay... long post, many words, and little sense...
