I think you can probably get a nice and sturdy sheet of metal. Grab your magic markers and sorta draw out the pieces you need on it, and get any metal workshop to cut them out for you.

Hey, maybe you can even remake the 'paper plates' into actual aluminum or something.

I cut up some children's plastic armor from the dollar tree for the gauntlet and i had an old purse and leather jacket for the leather.

Made it so I could things into whatever shape I wanted.
