Not in person anyway. He does appear as a statue in Ezio's Hall-of-Fame basement. And you CAN unlock his armour.

Am I the only one who saw the "an old friend (or something like that)" achievement?
That seems a little weird... Why would you have to escape the hideout as Desmond... And who is the old friend?! I'm drunk... On CHEESE! |

From what Ive read, I think its going to go down like this: Lucy comes in and puts Desmond into the old animus. From there, you witness and control baby Ezio. When Ezio's father comes to check on his new baby(Ezio), Lucy gets interrupted and pulls Desmond out of the animus where they both escape from Abstergo and go to the Hideout where the new animus, animus 2.0, is and you get in. I personally think this is where you get that achievement/trophy thats called "Bleeding Effect" which is Complete training(which I think is going to be when Desmond escapes where I think they will teach you how to do free running, etc) and reenter the animus. |

if toy look at the Acheviement list it is aligned so it happens in the correct order, and "the bleeding effect" is in between finishing DNA sequence 6 & 7 wich means you train not in the beginning like i thought but in the middle of the game in the assassin's hideout if my assumptions are correct
