Yes, but there will only be a few times where you go back to the present time I believe its only about 3 or 4 times. The Animus 2.0 allows for Desmond to talk to the people outside while he is in Ezio's shoes so there is less reason to come out.

welcome to the forums the mission structure of the game has changed so you won't have to listen to someone talk everytime you want to do a mission.
