Ever noticed how he never shows any interest in Lucy? I mean, he doesn't even take a shower after waking up, doesn't engage in 'playful' conversations with her, it's like she wasn't wearing a dress. Also, talk to her long enough, and Desmond will scratch his butt. >.< Although, I'd be curious how the conversation will go if he ever develops an emotional attachment...

D: So, uh... Lucy, I'm an assassin.
L: Yea?
D: Ya, and umm...
L: Out with it, I have to get the Animus working
D: I'm thinking about what Altair said... uh, can you breed with me? [cue sratch butt] Too Happy

She isn't wearing a dress. It's a blouse and skirt. And I think he does show some interest, especially during the prisoner discourse. More importantly though, who cares?

You'll also notice he never uses the bathroom, and yet if you go in there, the towels are rearranged every day and there's less and less toilet paper (three rolls in one week? what the heck is he doing in there?)

Besides, just because he takes no interest in Lucy doesn't mean he's gay. Maybe he doesn't find her attractive. Maybe it's because she works for his captors. Maybe she's a lesbian.

You can click on the wardrobe in the earlier half of the game and he actually says "I can't even change my clothes" so it's not entirely by choice

S'okay, it sounds a lot harsher than it is. To be frank, I think that if I was in the same situation I wouldn't be flirting with Lucy either. Even if she looked like Trance Gemini from Andromeda. Captivity does tend to put a bit of a dent in your libido

if i were taken captive by some organization and then forced to watch my ancestor kill people, i don't think that would really put me in the mood for flirting with my captors.

so he doesn't exactly flirt with Lucy. does that mean that he flirts with the doctor? well...no. he doesn't flirt with the doctor either. so i'm not sure what the assumption that Desmond is gay is based off of, because i didn't see anything to base it off of. now, maybe if he'd used the pickpocket ability to grab the doctor in unmentionable places, then maybe i'd assume he was gay. or maybe that's just an easter egg that i missed...

but if you assume a character is gay by them not flirting, doesn't that make pretty-much every character in the game gay? most of the characters also didn't eat food, and only drank in one scene that i can think of. so let's assume they they are all vampires. i mean, it makes about the same amount of sense. so now, based on nothing but what the characters didn't do, Desmond is a gay vampire. everyone in the game is, in fact, is a gay vampire. *rolls eyes*

i can see it now. "Assassin's Creed 2: Revenge of the Gay Vampires That Never Take Showers."

So I guess the difference between taking showers or not decides whether you're straight or gay. Indifferent

You make ton and ton of senses!

I'm sure you'd be real flirtatious when you're kidnapped and you know they're going to kill you afterwards. Be sure to make the last seven days count because you won't be doing any flirting after!

The butt-scratching, that's a "screen saver" animation. One of about five or six to be exact. It happens when you stop playing, not just when you talk to Lucy. Yup, he scratches his butt, and also looks over his shoulder, yawns, etc.

Oh, and there's the possibility that they do drug him, and also overwork him, so it's not like he's on his game. Notice how he never really tries to escape, fight Warren, jump out a window? He's tired, probably drugged in order to avoid those things. There's even the animation where he gets sleepy and nearly falls over before waking up.

He doesn't eat, or shower, or use the bathroom, and for all we know he doesn't sleep either. Surprised

Suuuure, he lays down, but do you ever actually see him sleeping? Nope. Angry Blue Guy

That's 'cause he's a vampire. Wink2

He doesn't even at least take his hoodie off when he's going to sleep. Or go under the cover in his bed. Or brush his teeth. Or go toilet. Or eat. Or drink. Or die of boredom. Or try to escape. Or try to attack his captors.

In fact; I didn't even see Lucy or the professor sleep! Or any way of air getting into the building.

They must be zombie aliens.

Are you sure? How do we know we're not really hooking into an Animus and controlling the real Desmond inside a memory loop? But seriously, I can't help but feel that these inconsistencies with Desmond not doing normal, mundane things like eating and washing are some kind of clues to a later development in the story

What, so you think if you don't hit on someone just because they're female means they're gay?
