Hi Lowfighter,

I just downloaded it again today and it installed fine. I upgraded my Win-Zip today and that did the trick.

I can't get it to import missions. I tried following the instructions about modifying the text file, and I put a marker on the map, but it still tells me "no file imported" - yet it does load the map and shows the airbase where I put the marker (or at least it looks like the right airbase).

Any ideas?

Did you first place Object 177 on the map in the place you wish to add the module to? You will need to open the map/mission in the FMB first and do this.

Yes, that's the marker I mentioned. Smile

First I hadn't done that and it said I needed a marker, then I added one and it then changed to "file not imported".

First: you can import a mission even without placing a marker on it in FMB. For example I have a mission template with airfields populated and I want to put directly with the QOT a trench line somewhere on the front line. I have built 3 large trenchlines up to now so I import the template, scroll through the square grids to the last ones (which are showing large parts of the map) and I place the marker(s) at the place where I want the trenchline(s) and insert the trench modules there, rotate them, etc. I can see the modules dimension in QOT even on the large sqare grids because the modules are large.
Second: It might be something me and Beebop were discussing on M4T: the mission you tried to import might contain [Static Camera] or rockets with targets assigned. In this case the mission will not be imported. You have to delete the [Static Camera] and the targets of the rockets and then it will work. Now if that's not the case with your mission, I think the best is to paste the mission content here and we can simply try to import it and see what's happening. The static camera and rockets will be probably fixed by the author, and we can also try to identify other problems. Also have you tried to import other missions and what was the result?

Haven't tried it with other missions yet.

At the time, it was just the Singapore map with a few static objects on an airfield and the marker object. No static cameras or rocket targets.

I might have had some aircraft flights and a few ships on it at the time (for a COOP), but I can't recall.

I wanted to try to build up the airbase (which would be the target in the end) a bit, but since it wouldn't work, I just started doing it manually.

I'll have to try it with other ones and see what happens.

BlitzPig_DDT,
please post the mission here, perhaps there are other problems than the static camera and rockets, and if we figure them out we can help a bit Tigger with the future versions of QOT.

Just a quickie, very simple module I built today. I try to make the modules look not very specific. Making them specific comes AFTER I placed the module in the mission so that with a bit of shifting adding or deleting the same module will look quite different in different missions, thus avoiding the boredom and the senssation of repetition...Normally this stage takes from say 10 -20s to 2-3 minutes.
If you'd like to share some module ideas/thought of better/quicker usage of QOT, pelase don't hesitate.

You mention
Open your Install and then "Daten" and then "Optionen.txt" and delete in this file this: "D:\Spiele\IL2FB\Missions\Net\coop\Test\"
Where is the Install that you talk about located?

I have not been able to get this program to work at all. It wont import missions to begin with. When I try it says no mission was imported.

Its looks like a great program I'm probably am just doing something wrong.

Thanks for any help

What he means is the place you installed Quick Object Tool.

Typically this would be:
C\Program Files\Quick Object Tool.

Inside the QOT folder is a folder called "Daten" Inside that is a text file named Optionen.txt". Open that file in Notepad, highlight and delete the line specified.
I have a feeling this was a test mission he loaded in but since our game is usually loaded into "C" the program could not find the game.

Until I did this the program would not work for me either but now everythings Jake.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the help. I modified the data as suggested IE:
Open your Install and then "Daten" and then "Optionen.txt" and delete in this file this: "D:\Spiele\IL2FB\Missions\Net\coop\Test\"

So you must have after that only this:
LetzteMisDatei=
Sprache=English

I still get the error message "no file was imported" when I try to import a file.

What should I try next??

Do the missions you are trying to import have static cameras, V-1 launchers or moving objects? Apparently they are all No-No's for the QOT.

Plz check your Windows-Install directory at files: MSSTDFMT.DLL and COMCTL32.OCX.
Those are two standart libraries for Visial Basic that you must have to use the QOT. If you don't have those files plz download from internet (Google) or send me an eMail. After downloading you must register those files on your system.

Registration:
1. plz insert those files into C:/Windows/system32 (adapt your path).
2. Plz click on "Start --> Run" and enter this:
"Regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\msstdfmt.dll" or
"Regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\COMCTL32.OCX"
(adapt your path)
3. Click "OK"
4. Read a message from your system.
5. Now you can use the QOT

APHill, did you try to import several missions?
If you do a simple test: go to FMB open a map, save as test.mis, exit and try to import that test.mis (which doesn't contain anything) in QOT. Would you get the same "mission not imported" message?
