I built several coop missions for use by my squad. I emailed them to the host. After we all playedg on a dogfight map for a while (map made by the host), he fired up the first coop.
We were using 4.09 mod version and several of us got a strange loading error at 90%; me included. I thought it was very odd that I got a mission loading error as I had created the mission. Anyway, we ended up switching to 4.09 unmodded and the mission loaded for everyone. Here is where it gets weird. We played the mission and it worked fine until we flew over a message I had written on the ground using sandbags. I used the straight sandbags and the 3/4 circle ones (objects 156 and 157 I believe). Only the circular ones showed up. We played 5 missions and the straight sandbag walls were missing from every mission. Here is where it gets REALLY weird. I fired up the FMB today and the straight sandbags were gone from my original missions. I was using 4.09 modded version. I shut down and started up 4.09 unmodded. Still no straight sandbags in any of the missions. I copied one mission and deleted everything except the circular sandbags in the message. I filled in the missing straight sandbags. I figured I would just cut and paste the message into all of the other missions after deleting the circular ones from the original missions. I didn't have time to do it right away so I shut the game down. Here is where it gets really, really weird. Several hours later I fired up the game. I went into one of the original missions to delete the circular sandbag, but all of the straight sandbags were there. I opened several missions and they were all just the way they were supposed to be with all of the sandbags right where I placed them. Actually this is probably a proper place, since these things are standard objects and are disapearing even when not playing a mod version. Besides, there's a bunch of folks making misns on here that make versions of their misns that will work with and without mods, as this misn was supposed to. There is no reason the standard objects are going away, since they use the same names. They should be in both versions, but especially when playing a standard version.
I think it's a Cylon plot myself....I can't even get winzip to work anymore after it worked fine three nights ago. But that's been happening for all the yrs I've had that goofy program. I've had a problem sometimes with briefings going away in coop misns....sometimes. All above my head. ------------------------------ Sleep tight tonight, your Air Force is......awake! |
