Weird. Storm Clouds was the only campaign ever to give me big graphical slowdowns and crashes. I don't know why as it doesn't have squillions of objects or planes in it. that's why i never got to finish it. I haven't tried it on my new PC so maybe it'll work this time.

B50, sorry i've not updated anymore, but my new computer had a bit of a problem and I'm afraid it's gotta have everything totally reloaded. That means I've lost the cmpn and where I was at on it.
However, I still have much of it on my old comp, so I'll just pick up where I left off there and just click my way through the ones I've played since. I'll lose my score and kills etc, but i'll be able to pick back up on it. I'm gonna wait till Quaz has time to come here and repair it , then I'll pick up again where I left off. ------------------------------ Sleep tight tonight, your Air Force is......awake! |

Don't worry Enforcer, my feelings aren't hurt...
Life may throw all manner of curves that get in the way of simming. I'm in San Diego for school right now. There's lot's in my course in the way of self-paced study both online, and with paperwork. since I have a slow pace, this takes up wuite a bit of spare time, and much to my chagrin, I haven't even been able to touch a mission in weeks. Oh well, I guess it's all for the good. Anyhow, looking forward to your work, I have never played an alternate history campaign, and I would quite like to try it out once completed. I haven't been able to change the skins for the Finnish aircraft, nor build any new ground templates as of yet. I spent a whole afternoon destroying the city and town objects in the area of Tallin, and every time a ran the mission, 30% of what I destroyed was rebuilt every time I started the mission. So in frustration I gave up trying to decrease building related frame rate reductions in this area. Next, when I have time, I will change those skins, and try to build the town of Nizino. Until then, thanks to all who downloaded and enjoyed this work. As always, feel free to drop any suggestions that I might be able to improve this campaign with, as eventually, V2.0 will be forthcoming. B50 |

Hopefully I'll be able to resume your cmpn next week as Quaz should be able to fix it buy then. Meantime Im working on my project everyday now, and making considerable progress.
I just obtained VP media's repaint mod for the transport ship and tanker. Not extra ships, but an incredible repaint of those two ships that we improvise so much use for. The actually look more warlike now, and much more realistic. The tanker can pass more for an LST now. The mod is in the ship part of the skins section at "the site". No files need be changed, just a folder added to the mods section. The best mod for FMB guys since his skin mod. From the look of stuff being developed on "the site", it looks like we will have a much greater field to work in during the coming yr. ------------------------------ Sleep tight tonight, your Air Force is......awake! |

Thanks for the heads up about the repaint. I will definitely drop by "the site" and put it in the "folder".
All of vp's stuff is top notch. If I made enough money, I would give him a salary for all of the work he's done. B50 |

Hey B-50, I saw a couple of shots in a magazine today (sea classics I think-can't afford to buy the damn things anymore, so I sit in the book store and read 'em), and I gotta find out WTF the deal is.
There was a short article about two FFGs intercepting some cocaine carrying vessels someplace in the middle of nowhere. They were two Perry class FFGs, the Samuel B. Roberts was one of them.....and niether one of them had thier Standard SAM launcher's forward. I didn't see what looked like VLS, because the pedastals for them are still there. WTF? Have they taken thier primary weapons system for some bizarre reason, or whut? I just gotta know. What use is an FFG without its standard system? ------------------------------ Sleep tight tonight, your Air Force is......awake! |

I haven't seen the pictures yet, but on most surface ships Navy wide, the are converting from the NATO Sea Sparrow missile system to the RAM or Rolling Airfram Missile system.
This is a good change. On all three of my deployments on two different ships, it has never taken less than two days to get a live NATO SSM out of the laucher. This is somewhat beyond the ideal threat response time. Also, the VLS system for SM-3 missiles is removeable, so for a anti terrorism or anti drug missions they may have been removed for deployment on another ship. I know in the aviation community, there are digital, cryptographic and communication assets that we remove from our aicraft when they return from deployment, and transfer to another squadron that may be going out. For anti drug missions or anti piracy, the RAM, 5inch, 25mm, .50 and .30 guns on the Frigate are adequate. For Sea Control or combined battle group deployments, almost certainly all fleet defense weaponry would be in place. I'm done with school, but I don't graduate until monday. I miss my house and my desktop. Good luck with your project... B50 |

Well that's interesting. I thought the Navy had enough standard systems for all of them. I know that the Standard SAM has an anti-shipping capability as well, since they were used to sink several Iranian vessels some yrs ago.
I sure hope nobody decides to attack them. I think that's a bad idea, considering how sneaky our enemies are. I figured they would just replace them with a VLS. ------------------------------ Sleep tight tonight, your Air Force is......awake! |

Its probably the map I used. I don't know what it is but it seems to be very memory intensive...I had problems on my older PC when I started making the campaign. |

Browning, I just started playing this campaign and I'm 4 missions in so far and I just wanted to say this is a fantastically put together campaign. Extremely well done and I look forward to writing a full review on M4T once I'm finished playing it.

Yeah, it's one of the best 5 cmpns I've flown. His stuff is very historically realistic.

Had a chance to get into this gem again today after a long spell on other things.
Actually got a few kills in this one... ..but then my engine got shout out about 30cm from the frontlines. I thought I'd nurse it over but it exploded suddenly and killed me. Happens. |

Had a nice, relaxing two-kill mission for no.22 - just in a perfect 'zone' for flying and dogfighting.
No. 23 was a good old rumble. Dived down on a pair of strafing 109s (actually I was in a Mig3 when the briefing said I'd be in a LaGG but no matter - probably due to my low rank after so many deaths!). managed to smoke one and then extended away to gain some altitude. B50Cal being the utter ba$tard that he is, my eyes were already scanning the upper reaches of the sky for the high element or fighters. Sure enough, there they were, so I called for ground control for assistance, called for help to my winmen and got stuck in. After surviving a perilous head on merge - thanks to the more capable AI in Certificate's AI mod v1.7- I twisted and turned a bit and found myself in a spot of poo with three 109s on my six. I forget exactly what I did but somehow I managed to fake them out and turned really tightly across their path and scored an absolute blinder of a deflection shot. No track or pics of course. Anyway, when I get near the gaming PC I am still really enjoying how well set up this campaign is. Good length flight times, too. I don't have time for long ones but it is nice to do the whole thing in each mission. Actually that's not entirely true. These days I tend to finish the mission once I have egressed the combat zone unless I am damaged, in which case it is fun trying to get back across the lines. Our opposition at the moment is the infamous "Green Hearts' unit. They still burn the same as any other 109 though. A shot of one of our companions from a Guards regiment. ********************** Download my campaigns at Mission4Today.com. A few more shots from the Mig mission mentioned above.
I finally reached the hurricane missions that Enforcer mentioned much earlier. I just love the look of the thing, especially now that we're back in spring/summer in the campaign. I couldn't stop taking screenshots, even during combat with the Finnish Fokker's. They looked cool, but were a real pain to kill as they turn so well! Luckily the Hurri absorbs their lightweight rounds quite happily. And if I can get a solid hit on them with the field modded guns, then it's all over. Spotted them! Can anyone help me?! But now the tables have turned! This one never made it back to Finland. In the following mission, the terrible weather made for some great screenies. ********************** Download my campaigns at Mission4Today.com. The missions flying in support of a Russian attempt to force a bridgehead are superb! I have to say I am far more comfortable flying in a Hurri, too, especially one with better armament than the MkI I suffered so much in last year.
--------- The tide is definitely turning in this campaign, comrades! Hordes of red-starred wings swat down the Fascist invaders day after day. At this rate we'll have pushed them back to their own borders before we know it. The fascist dogs come at us in their bombers and are crushed utterly! Even our ground attack planes join in the action, staining the Motherland with the vile stain of the invaders. Unfortunately the fascist crew bailed out. However, that will merely delay their doom. Forwards, peasant comrades! Show the Allemani that real men need no weapons to kill! ============================= Seriously, this was such a blast to fly that I'm going to add it to my list of regulars. I couldn't believe my eyes when the Il2's started stalking the Ju88's and THEN rolled over and dived down! They laid waste to anything in their flight path, and more importantly, drew fire from me. Everyone has to play this campaign. ********************** Download my campaigns at Mission4Today.com. Thanks for the pics FS!
That's a new one for me with the Sturmoviks! I think it might be do to the AI mod (which I'm a fan of). Enforcer, I almost ran into you online the other day in Spits vs 109's, but as soon as I was going to send the chat, you left the game. I'm bummed out that I can't get my TS to work. But I still fly in there when I can. I haven't the drive lately to get into the mission builder. I'm still toying around with a couple of ideas, and I want to continue to rewrite the Caldwell campaign, but I have been too busy as of late. Thanks for your continued interest in "The Siege", which I think may be my last IL2 project for awhile. I'll be online every once in a while on the Warbirds of Prey servers, and I hope to chat with you all. B50 |

Thank you sir. One other question. Can this also be flown as a multi-play say between 2 live players. |

B50,
I hear you about not feeling like making missions anymore. In fact, I rarely play these days. I tend to go in bursts, but they're getting ever less frequent. No surprise though given how long I've played the game and how many things I have to deal with in real life. I still have a couple of campaigns I'd like to do but doubt I'll ever get around to them now. Anyway, I'm looking forward to the end of this coming week when I'll have a little more breathing room so I can play a few more missions. ********************** Download my campaigns at Mission4Today.com.
