I've been making films for a campaign. I would like to show some of the non-training movies as plot advance mechanisms... so instead of using the * in the campaign.ini file I would like to show the movie with full color and without the old time effects. Is that possible?

I don't think so. I've never seen it done except in black and white.

Not trying to dispute you Zeus-cat but it may be possible.
I saw this at Flying Nutcases site. Making IL-2 Training and Campaign tracks If you leave the asterisk out of the string it may be possible to play the track in color. Never tried it but I think that it is a good possibility with what he says in the tutorial. Wheelsup

I just tried it using Against Overwhelming Odds and it didn't work.
* Missions/Campaign/DE/Against_Overwhelming_Odds/video/spate Removing the asterisk AND the space caused the game to launch the campaign, but you never leave the campaign selection screen. Removing just the asterisk caused the game to crash. Leaving the line intact starts the campaign and the movie plays in black and sepia.
