There is a modification available at a site called All Aircraft Arcade that allows you to change the default skins, and another one that adds new countries and markings, including blue sided USAF, like i said. Google the name of the site and you will find these mods.

I made the Soviet planes blue as in the Romanians. I just made the planes markings off, and used custom skins, many of which were made specially for this by assorted skinners. I had to make sure the Romanian markings were off.
I really wish we could control the red blue thing a bit more though. I had many sim limitations to work around making this. I also highly recommend using VP media's static skin mod, as it allows planes on the ground look like they should (see the screens previous pages). Not mandatory, but stuff is gonna look silly on hte ground without it. the ohter mod I recommend for this (and all general usage) is vp medias ship mod, which just repaints the transports, tankers etc in more military looking paint rather than those cartoon colors. Both those mods aree very stable, easy to use with good instructions, and don't mess up anything else. No hassles modifying assorted files etc. ------------------------------ Sleep tight tonight, your Air Force is......awake! |

So when flying your campaign, one needs to change all default skins with the skin mod, or is it simpler than that?

The static skin mod puts these skins on planes on the ground, which really adds alot. It basically replaces the default skin for various countries, and can easily be disabled after. Not too hard to do either, but takes a bit of time as you have to re-assign the default skins for a couple of nationalities by flying them for a few seconds in the quick misn maker, then putting the resulting skins in the appropriate files. Not difficult at all, as his instructions are very simple and easy. VP media's work is always first rate.
His ship mod that repaints the transports/tankers is also very useful, as I use many of these for amphibious ships (tankers for LSTs) and they look alot better along a beach. Take a look at the earlier parts of this post and the links I posted for the other post to see these mods in action on the ground. ------------------------------ Sleep tight tonight, your Air Force is......awake! |

Great skin NS, but Im not gonna use it at this time, maybe it and somemore in the future, but it caused me some serious computer problems.
When they get the mod planes where you dont have to change and eliminate a bunch of ohter mods, then Ill grab some more. I still have one misn to go, and gotta make the cmpn file itself, but its basically complete. Just got to get around tech school and hte battle for survival in the depression to finish it, but I will. ------------------------------ Sleep tight tonight, your Air Force is......awake! |
