Flyingfridge, I'm pretty sure this will be the greatest. It will be awesome to be a German secret agent in 1946! I can't wait!

I'm just about to download it. It looks even better than I'd thought. Oh boy, the Germans are getting a carrier...There goes the planet.
Question: Is this campaign compatible with 4.08? I'd get 4.09 but I don't want to mess up being able to play online. |

And in case you were wondering, the campaign OWNS. It is totally awesome! There are exciting missions, great scenery, and an amazing story. It is the best 1946 campaign EVAR!!!

Actually Fivestar, its says you don't need 4.09 to play, it works fine with 4.08, apart from you don't see some of the objects. It's really up to you.
And thanks for the compliments! Are we talking about the same campaign??? |

|
Yeah, I checked, it works fine on 4.08. And don't sell yourself short man! This campaign is excellent! I've finished the first three missions, and it's one of the most fun campaigns I've ever played. The action is quick and to the point, and the freedom about how to accomplish objectives is refreshing.

I've just remembered - the last mission is on a 4.09 map!!! That won't show up.... That was silly of me. |

Hey Flyingfridge, Awesome campaign. I have a question though. I can't shoot down the YP-80 in mission 9. It is faster and higher and has better manuverability than the 262. Can you help?

Yeh, it's a a pain that one. If you can't get the Yp-80s yourself, the trick is to lead them to the Japanese ships, then let the flak finish them. A very clever trick! (Well, that's what I thought).

Awesome, but how do I lead them to the ships without time running out or, more importanly, me getting shot down by the yp-80s?

OK, here is my in depth guide - presuming the Shusuis (Me 163s) or your wingman can take out the Migs. That leaves you and four YP-80s - easy!
You can do this a few ways. In the general combat, the YP-80s split into two groups of two, with an ace on the front and a less-skilled wingman on the back. These wingmen are easy prey, so aim for them. I once dived on the pair and downed them both, but I haven't managed to pull that off again... Anyway, this diving tactic is a good'un, especially when the Shusuis run outta fuel and try and glide home at slow speed. The YP-80s will slow down to finish them off, so dive on them then. They usually follow the gliding Shusuis back to your carriers anyway, saving you some work. If they engage you, just roll and dive back to your carriers and use your wingman as a shield (harsh, but that's what he's there for). When you get there, stay low and they'll get torn apart. Alternatively, you can hope that the sheer numbers of the Do-335s (or Kaijus, as I've called them) will down the Yp-80s, when they return from their bombing sortie. Just give it a few goes and try different things, you only need to get 3 Yps and 3 Migs. If you really can't do it, perhaps you should fiddle with the difficulty settings? Or maybe the FMB? That's the hardest mission, that and the first carrier one. Good luck! |
