How do you force a waypoint for a ship or boat? I have found that on some templates that others have shared that they can get boats to go places that I can not (e.g.: getting landing craft to get right up on the shore, and getting fishing boats to go up river).

While I have your attention: Is there any way to slow down the rate of fire on vehicles or artillery?

Thanks for all info,

You can edit ship waypoints so they come closer to shore, up onto the beach, or to sail along smaller waterways.

Take a STATIC ship and place it where you want the MOVING ship to go. (You can place multiple static ships to use as multiple waypoints.)

Open the .mis file and copy the coordinates of the static ship(s) to the coordinates of the moving ship. Example:

Let's take an LTV (1_Chief) and make it cruise all the way to the shoreline. Here is part of the mis file:

[Chiefs]
0_Chief Ships.USSCVGeneric 1 30 2 10.0
14_Chief Ships.USSIndianapolisCA35 1 0 0 15.0
11_Chief Armor.1-LT_40MG 2
1_Chief Ships.LVT_2WAT 1 0 0 15.0 <---We will edit this ship.
2_Chief Ships.LVT_2WAT 1 0 0 12.0
3_Chief Armor.1-M4A2_US 1
4_Chief Armor.1-M4A2_US 1
5_Chief Armor.1-M4A2_US 1

*Now, find the waypoint coordinates for 1_Chief:

[1_Chief_Road]
131985.69 65472.81 120.00 0 2 1.1111111111111112
132821.83 65329.14 120.00 0 2 1.1111111111111112
133965.25 65413.84 120.00 <---Final Waypoint

*The last line is the final waypoint.

*Now, find the coordinates for the static ship you placed:

[NStationary]
256_Static ships.Ship$DUKW_WAT 1 134304.59 65399.49 360.00 0.0 0 2 1.0

*We will copy this part of the static ship coordinates:

134304.59 65399.49 360.00

*Now, delete the Final Waypoint coordinates of [1_Chief_Road] and replace them with these coordinates. The moving ship coordinates will then look like this:

[1_Chief_Road]
131985.69 65472.81 120.00 0 2 1.1111111111111112
132821.83 65329.14 120.00 0 2 1.1111111111111112
134304.59 65399.49 360.00 <---New Final Waypoint Coordinates

**Don't try to move these custom waypoints in the FMB...you will lose them.

For your second question, you can't change the ROF on vehicles or artillery.

Just to clarify what Aviar has said, edit the .mis file with Notepad outside the game.

Many thanks to you Aviar and Zeus-cat.

I hope it doesn't end up being as hard as it sounds (I know, everything is hard the first time).

Thanks again,
