Hello everyone,

Its my pleasure to be able to announce that the Storm Clouds 2.0 campaign package that I've been working on for the past year is now complete and ready for downloads.

Storm Clouds 2.0 is a campaign collection featuring three campaigns:

1) Storm Clouds - Tempest campaign flying with the Royal Air Force's 2nd Tactical Air Force
2) Gewitterwolen - Fw190D-9 campaign flying with the Luftwaffe's JG26
3) Storm Clouds: Smashing Our Way Across Europe - P-47D mini-campaign flying with the USAAF's 9th Air Force

The campaign features a combined total of over 55 missions split between each of the three campaigns. In a few cases missions are playable from multiple perspectives flying from either the Tempest or Fw190D-9 and engaging in the same battles.

Please enjoy the campaign and let me know what you think of it.

Download the campaign at: http://mission4today.com/index...file=details&id=3687

And now for some screen shots!

Looks great. Thumbs Up

You should throw some Spitfire XIVs in the mix next!

I'll check this one out for sure.

Ice,
The Mission4today file has gone missing, along with the website as it is updated - http://colin.polariscreations....fb/stormclouds20.zip.

Is Storm Clouds mirrored anywhere else?

I enjoyed Storm Clouds V1 so looking forward to V2. Thanks for the work.

Regards, Tanimbar

I knew I shouldn't have used that feature...I assumed it would upload from that location rather than mirror there (I can't keep it there).

Its fixed now...so go ahead and resume the downloading Big Grin

Ok, just downloaded this and started up the FW-190D campaign...REALLY enjoying it though I'm only 2 missions in...almost got through the 2nd one but my damn wingman let me get chewed up by 2 spits...

I like how everything is laid out well and operates like clockwork. I figured that out the first mission when I went the wrong way around the waypoints and ended up having to deal with 8 P-47's and some P-51's thrown in, didn't last long. Went the proper way around the next time and came at the P-47 flights one at a time.

I've got all three campaigns going at the same time. It's just too hard to pick between 3 of my favorite planes! Big Grin

Kudos, IceFire. I'm having fun with all three, and starting up Storm Clouds again is like re-reading a favorite book. I'm a very happy IL-2 fan right now. Thumbs Up

Glad to hear it!

Sometimes I wonder when I'm off in my own little world making a campaign if anyone will download it and then if they will like it. The goal ultimately is for people to enjoy whatever it is that they are playing...so its REALLY nice to hear from all of you. I'm not shy of criticism either but it is nice to hear good things!

What rank do you recommend when flying the P-47D campaign? I went for the highest, since that's what you usually recommend for your campaigns, but I noticed that this might not have been the best choice. On one mission (the 4th, I think) I found myself in a A-20 instead of a P-47D.

Oh dammit...if thats the case then I screwed up and put a A-20 flight in the same squadron as the P-47 flights.

Sure its the 4th mission? I'll check into it.

Ranks are irrelevant...so long as you do the squadrons properly. Which I apparently didn't.

EDIT: I checked a bunch of missions...don't see anything out of place actually. Could you do me a huge favour and double check which mission it was...

I just finished the Fw-190D campaign. VERY enjoyable, thank you very much for taking the time to put it together. The individual missions were fun and often very unique, and I'll have to go back and try a few of them again, like one where I got bounced by something like 16 spits...barely got out of that one alive.

Really the whole thing was perfect and very well done overall, I can't think of any suggestions. The waypoints of different flights met up like clockwork, and the scenarios were challenging but not impossible.

I'll write up a review at M4T soon. Definitely 5 stars all the way!

Oops, It was mission 5, actually. Sorry. Yeah, the A-20s are in the same squadron.

I'll echo Ba5tard5word about the Dora campaign. I'm not too far into it, concentrating on the Tempest and P-47, but it's a blast. Thumbs Up

Tried the P-47 campaign last night. I like the plane for ground attack in QMB but never get much other game time in it. Actually, these days I rarely play anymore, other than a quick QMB here and there (mostly in an F9F of late).

Anyway, my point was that I enjoyed the missions I tried last night. Nice skins - stunning with Avala's planeshine mod, enough detail to look realistic and already a bit of variety. Not far to fly in each mission, either. For players without much time, that's essential.

Managed to down Dora with some absolutely freakish high-deflection shot but alas, this baby escaped me (and I, it!) when I overshot it at about mach 6 in a dive.

Thanks for taking the time and effort to put this great thing together for all of us.

having a bit more fun tonight. Supposed to be finishing a 3000 word essay on Motivation but ironically enough I can't be bothered. So I'm playing this instead and having a beer.
Much better.

I had to laugh just before. I'm playing a slightly longer range mission, one where you have to target a rail junction. Anyway, I died the first time - train-mounted flak took me out as I released my rockets. Very realistic.
The second time I was way more careful. Anyway, I was lining up my target, all in order, flak nothing to worry about due to my high speed., target, a 'parked' train all lined up nicely in my sights. Fire a rocket alvo and pull up. Dead.]
A short WTF later and I realise I had been targeting a fuel train and the secondary explosion took me out before I could pull out. reminded me of a similar dirty trick I played on players in my first campaign (I hid about 5 fuel trucks inside a building the player was supposed to strafe. Hiroshima had nothing on that building once the first rounds hit it.).

Anyway, still loving the chance to get some Jug action i, still think you've got a nice balance of objects in the target areas, still think IL2 looks great.
