I haven't read them also but I have seen the movies. isn't that enough? I can make missions based from the movies.

If you want a piracy theme set in an alternate universe, maybe check out my Air Pirates campaign, though it's not based on Crimson Skies and I've actually never played Crimson Skies either....

Why not make a Battlestar Galactica campaign.
