I do a lot of hosting and have been using QMT to make last minute changes. For some strange reason, it has suddenly stopped working. Gives me an message when I try to open it saying that it cannot find the correct path. I thought it might have just become corrupted so all I needed to do was download a fresh programe. Have searched high and low but can't find an active link. Does anyone have an active link?

I also thought I might try Mission Mate but I can't find a link for that either.

Many thanks for any help.

I was wanting to know if there was a new version...mine was 2.04...this link gives the 2.05

I have been slowly adding the new a/c and mod flyables to mine

Hey BG,
I haven't used this program but maybe it's similar to HL or MATManager - it's looking for the il2fb.exe s it hasn't been updated to 1946 standards. I remmber being led on a merry bloody walk trying to get the above programs to work. They do now but I altered British roundels once, about 6 months ago and now it's impossible for me to get them back and I'm too chicken to try and reinstall MAT.
Just get one of your serfs to do it for you.

Hi FSP! Haven't talked in ages. Family all well?

The version dirkpit directed me to is the updated version for 1946 and it does work in my other computer. This really has me stumped. I really like QMT. It is so handy for making quick changes to weather, aircraft etc when I am hosting coops and good for picking the next mission when I finish the mission ahead of others. I have tried contacting Shift_E but all links to him are dead including his Ubi Zoo account.

BG, what exact version are you running?

I've tried V2.05, and the screen in there for browsing to the IL2 folder just looks different than yours:

Maybe get 2.05 and try it with that one?

Interesting FT! The screen is different.

But I am definitely using V2.05 as per the attached screenshot with the 2.05 exe beside.

Well, the exe you are showing there is the setup package of the program. Wink2
So, I'm still thinking you are on an older version. Cool

So, better uninstall the version you've got installed currently, and then install QMT_V205...

After installing, you should have an exe file named 'MissionTuner V2.exe', size 1.188Kb, date/time: Jul 24th 2008, 14:34.

You can check that before un-installing...

I think this is a Catch 22 FT. The version I got came from M4T and is definitely 2.05. There doesn't seem to be anywhere else to get it. Also I seem to have the same exe as you do.

Weird stuff!!

I'm lost now! Sad Eyes

Edit: do you get that window while installing? Or by selecting options from within the tool itself?

As soon as you click on the exe to set it up, the game path screen pops up. You then navigate to the proper path automatically and then hit enter. That's when the game path error screen pops up. I have tried entering the path manually and still get the error screen. I have also tried deleting the game and reinstalling a clean version of 4.08 (no mods). Makes no difference. My back up computer has mods installed and this same version of QMT worked first time. I am beginning to think there is something in the registry from previous versions. I may do a complete reformat now that the weather ain't so good anymore.

Good thinking!

You can check that...

Run Regedit, then browse for HKEY_Current User\Software\DiversWare\QMT Edit

That's where the settings of V2.05 are. The Key 'GamePath' holds the path to IL2.

I've tried to uninstall V2.05, change the GamePath key, (to an invalid folder, and for sure, uninstalling it does not clean up the registry!) and then after reinstalling it, and running it, that window shows up! (So, not while running Setup as in your case)

But, then I can browse to the correct folder, press enter and it will run, no error message.

Specifically check 'HKEY_Current User\Software\VB and VBA Program Settings'. Chances are the older settings are in there.

Still no joy.

Deleted QMT and then cleaned out registry. There was nothing in VB or VBA Program settings. Did a registry search for QMT, QMT Edit and Quick Mission Tuner and nothing showed up.

Downloaded V205 and installed. You are correct, the path screen only comes up when you try to run it. Game Path Error still coming up.

Just finished backing up c drive with Norton Ghost to external drive. Everything else on my computer is running well so I am loath to reformat. But this utility is important to me for hosting and I may have to. O me miserum!

Looks like you found some kind of bug in QMT.

I did this:
- Install QMT, and assign bot missions folder and game folders to my IL2 folder.
- Copied my IL2 to a different location, changed both paths in QMT to the other location, and closed QMT.
- Started QMT, and it prompts for the location of the game folder... using the exact same browse window you get.

So, there's a bug.
Try and postpone the format, I've started hunting now...
