I'm looking into Home Fleet operations off the Norwegian coast in early 1944, as relayed at this site: http://www.royalnavyresearcharchive.org.uk/ESCORT/EMPEROR.htm
Only the places mentioned in "offensive operations April-June 1944" don't appear to exist. Can anyone tell me where they may be referring to by "Kjehn" and "Fossevaag"? And which Rorvik where they attacking? There appears to be 14 of them! _________________________ It is bad enough that a grown man should spend the greater balance of his time playing a game on a computer. It is yet worse that he should spend the remainder of his time arguing about it on the internet. |

Hi,
I believe we are talking about "Fosnavaag", or "Fosnavåg" if you have Swedish or Norwegian language setting. It is located in Möre-Romsdal and you can find info and a map link here: http://www.virtualtourist.com/travel/Europe/Norway/Moer...lGuide-Fosnavag.html This location is mentioned in "Flyalarm Luftkrigen över Norge 1939-1945" and the herring oil factory was attacked as described on the website you referred to. Kjehn is not mentioned in the book and I don't know if it is the correct name or where it is located - But I am Swedish and not Norwegian on the other hand....
