What's this? No posts in the Awesome Object Thread for... 7 months!?

I think it's about time we bring some life back into this old joint!

So, 'ere we 'ave me lowly contribution to start off...

Secret Rocket Testing Facility!

A view of the observation/command bunker

An ambulance and medical personnel stand by, just in case...

The radio operator awaits orders

A look inside the camoflaged shelter

Last but not least, the rudimentary launch pad!

As you can see, it's just a Lerch, some V-2 rockets, and a racing pylon welded together. At the moment, tests are being performed with working Lerches... Houston will need some time to think this one through, I think.

Bumpification!

Just a basic British airstrip

Quarters for the ground crew and Royal Army detachment

Recipe for the barracks: Two sheds welded together, with an outhouse for the door

The field hospital

Meal time!

Airstrip headquarters

Destroyed building: Take one shed, mix with two crate objects, and destroy (You may season with extra destroyed objects for added flavor and variety)

I can't stand having all the ships in the harbor look the same. Add buildings or railcars.

Finally... a use for those signal tarps.

If airfields don't have hangers, I build them.

Brick hanger walls and tandem fuel trailer.

All my missions start in hangers so I can taxi to the runway.

Leaving the hanger. Wrecked #13 being repaired. (I colored the "pilot skin" gray... so that the cockpit would look empty)

Idling aircraft won't try to take off... as it's "invisible runway" is blocked by wrecked #13 in the hanger.

Returning home after a night mission.

How'd you get your soldiers elevated? Is that another soldier mod?

No m8 belive it or not I had problems installing the hanger 2 mod and my static ini elevated the mod blue crew.Could not change their hight but could not save anything I had done either so took those screenies. I have subsequently uninstalled it for mission building because cant be sure people will have the same obj's etc.

Great ideas, Fledermaus

Can you do this without splattering transparent runways all over the place? I've tried that approach and apart from 'exploding' off the edges occasionally I found it added a huge burden for my views button during play ;-)

Love your freight-laden ships, btw!

I can imagine that you're taking off from a hanger at one of the "game's" designated airfields. Yeah, you'll need a lot of test runway #4's for that.

I mostly build my fields... so I use one test runway #4 to taxi straight to a test runway #3 for take off.
If you approach the "hard" runway at walking speed, the "bump" isn't too bad when your tires hit it.

Yep

Hmm, just a bump. Thanks - I'll try that. I sometimes wonder though what the maintenance chief would say if you fired up inside 'his' hangar, especially if he had the head off an engine... ;-)

Can we have a hint as to which mod that rubble is in? Looks great.

The following is VPmedia's ship mod, which just repaints the auxileries. Easy to implement. Makes the transport and tanker look like they belong in a combat sim rather than a cartoon.

Of course m8, those are madtocs objects mod, imported from ToW. Not all of them have damage models like these though...version 2 should be released soon...still beta but works fine.

Pack one is at AAA, beta section. Please let me know if you need any more help.
